I'm very curious. The message I get from them is pretty clear, and ironically, somewhat true the King James version of the Bible.

I am not calling Tool "Christian prog-metal". xD

Just curious to see what you think...

what i know is that it is not satanic. it's about spirituality(Eleven), DNA (46&2), natural disasters (Aenima). Don't let the videos throw you off. Telepathy as a light being (Schism). The list goes on and on, you just have to be in the right mindset of what they are. watch some recent live footage. all the backgrounds consist of light beings, your third eye, planetary grids, thoughts, brains. very un-satanic friend. satan is a lie anyway.

lol Someone told me Tool is entirely satanic and I went into debate for a good hour. But, it's nice to see people agreeing with me somewhat. To me, as said before, they're all about spirituality.

They are free. They have nothing to do with
any religion. They are just opening eyes and
minds. Which is why people truly enjoy
tagging bad names on bands like them.
The more people they can get to avert the
knowledgeable eye to such bands.
The better they get them chained and shut up.

I don't understand the big deal about
satanism. If Christians or other belief
based people would read a little.
They would find out that Satanism is
just another version of Christianity.
But more or less based on the individual instead
of worshiping a deity.

If Christianity never existed, satanism
would never had happened.
Anyway, All these religion that worship a
solar messiah should realize that its
ancient belief of the worship of the sun.
Is the exact replica of today's religions.

Check out Danny Carey's website: [link to www.dannycarey.com]

Danny Carey

Daniel Edwin "Danny" Carey (born May 10, 1961) is an American drummer best known for his work in American Grammy Award-winning progressive metal band Tool. [...] Carey progressed through high school and later college at the University of Missouri–Kansas City, he began expanding his studies in percussion with theory into the principles of geometry, science, and metaphysics as well as delving into Sacred Geometry and certain hidden aspects of life and the occult. [...] American progressive metal band Tool is heavily influenced by Crowley's works, ranging from Danny Carey's Enochian Magic Board, supposed references to Qabalah in Lateralus, and citations by Blair MacKenzie Blake on the Tool newsletter to name a few. [...]

Religion and the occult

Although Carey has not officially aligned himself with any particular school of philosophy or religion, he has projected a deep interest in and understanding for the magical arts - among them various occult teachings. Enochian symbols, geometric designs, and special symbolic percussive devices are featured on and in his drum kit. He is also a collector of First Edition Aleister Crowley books as well as books by one of Crowley's more innovative students, Kenneth Grant.

Geometric designs

Carey has laid claim to various drumming techniques that use sacred geometric figures such as the unicursal hexagram. The final product is very recognizable, fluent drumming, although to him it is much more: the official Tool website claims that Danny uses drumming as a ritual similar to occult rituals, with purposes varying from spiritual exploration to "a gateway [which] summoned a daemon he has contained...that has been delivering short parables similar to passages within The Book of Lies". Another geometric reference from the website was the inclusion of Nothing in This Book Is True... by Bob Frissell[3] on the band's recommended reading list, a book that deals with sacred geometry and the evolution of human consciousness.

It took a while for me to understand the intricacies of their sound. I would say Tool is above the realm of average thinking.
So they are more science and philosophy whereas pop is the devil's playground.

Re: Is the band "Tool" satanic or just philosophical?

Danny grew up in Paola, KS. Relatively normal, an element of mystery was added to Danny's childhood when one day he spied his father with a large sword conducting a Masonic ritual. Danny would later notice himself performing similar movements when he began playing drums at the age of thirteen. As Danny progressed through high school and then college at the University of Missouri in Kansas City he began supplementing his studies in percussion with speculation into the principles of geometry, science, and metaphysics. A commitment to life as an artist brought Danny to LA where he was able to perform as a studio drummer with projects like Carole King and play around town with Pygmy Love Circus. He would later find an outlet for addressing a fuller scope of his potentials in Tool and another project operating under the title of Zaum. Despite not becoming a Mason or aligning himself with any other school of religion, Danny has maintained his heritages interest in occult studies. Endeavors into this realm have manifested periodically, such as the time he achieved insight into a hidden aspect of the unicursal hexagram utilizing an astral journey initiated through meditation and DMT. Danny then set up his drums into proportions utilizing the circle and square of the New Jerusalem and uttered a short prayer relating to the principles of the ace of swords from the book of Thoth. He then performed a ritual utilizing his new found knowledge of the unicursal hexagram to generate a pattern of movement in space relating to Fuller's vector equilibrium model. The resulting rhythm and gateway summoned a daemon he has contained within "the Lodge" that has been delivering short parables similar to passages within the Book of Lies. Danny recommends as a device of protection and containment a thorough study and utilization of the underlying geometry of the Temple of Solomon for anyone purchasing their next record.

Watch that wake up series that was posted, it's pretty good. I'd remove myself from anything Aleister Crowley related, just google Crowley and Lucifer and you'll find all you need to know about that guy. God, Jesus, and the Devil are very much real. Satan's influence is all over the music industry, watch some vids on it.

Re: Is the band "Tool" satanic or just philosophical?
Tool promotes new age and occultism, opening the third eye, eastern mysticism, "spiritual evolution", not to mention a habit of directly mocking Christianity. So yea, they are the definition of a satanic-influenced rock band, though notably much more sophisticated than most other rock groups.

They have hypnotized untold millions into their mystic worldviews.

This is coming from personal experience. I used to be a Tool-fanatic.

The song "Eulogy" leads me to think that they are against the Christian worldview.

So according to christians, which believe that if you are not with Christ then you are against him, this would be satanic.
