Ah, but why did the British government cover up the fact that the Catholic priest was the leader of the IRA cell that killed all those people and order the police not to arrest him? This is because, if MI5 had arrested the priest, the mole's identity would have been exposed, he would have been immediately murdered and MI5's record of COLLUSION with members of the IRA would have been exposed to the world. That could not be allowed to happen and so Northern Ireland Secretary Willy Whitelaw covered up the worst act of terrorism in British history in order to protect the reputation of the British secret service and his government.
