Re: River disappears overnight after loud detonation noise is heard
On Tuesday night 2km of the river Iska in Slovenia disappeared and left behind fish on dry ground. The residents are saying that they heard a huge bang in the night. It sounds like they are describing it as a possible earthquake-like sound although there was no tremor. One woman said that it was like a huge detonation, as if something big had crashed onto the ground. People went out of their homes to see what was falling down, only to witness the river being drained.

To make this story even more strange, last week there were devastating floods in Slovenia and this river like all others was flooding land and properties. Could it be that some strange technology is being tested here for flood defence purpose? The official explanation is that due to the karst nature of the terrain the river went underground through this tiny hole (see pictures in link below), but the residents are highly sceptical as they have never witnessed anything like that ever (bearing in mind this river has flooded many times before).

For pictures (language is Slovenian): 24ur.com...

The first part of the official news story (from link above) translates as:

"On Tuesday night the river Iska vanished between the villages of Iska Vas and Strahomer."... (Now here comes the official explanation)... "Slovene Environment Agency statement says that the water is flowing into the underground chamber underneath the water bed. This is the way the river disappears and reappers later down stream. This time this characteristic of the river is stronger because of the damages to the river bed."
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1108510

Earthquakes have been known to not only drain rivers but make them begin to flow in the opposite direction as well.

Has anyone checked out to see if any earthquakes were reported near Slovenia during that time period?

I'd give it another 9 months and it will be undeniable that we are approaching singularity.
No one has ever seen a perfect circle, nor a perfectly straight line, yet everyone knows what a circle and a straight line are.
Perceived circles or lines are not exactly circular or straight, and true circles and lines could never be detected since by definition they are sets of infinitely small points.

It shouldn't be too hard to trace it to the source of the problem.
River water originates somewhere...and it has to FLOW....somewhere.

Just trace it out and see where the water is going.....mystery solved.

From the Holy Quran Surah Al-Kahf verse 41

"Or the water thereof (of the gardens) becomes deep-sunken (underground) so that you will never be able to seek it."

Or some morning the water thereof will be lost in the earth so that thou canst not make search for it.

God is talking of a river between the two gardens of men. Read the story.

God has the power to make rivers disappear over night.

Could it have been an asteroid impact? Some of the water that allegedly disappeared down a crack may simply have boiled away from the heat of the impact.

I am favoring this explaination.

Uhmmm.....THEORY failsmile

Rivers always have MORE water flowing into them.
It's not a static event with ONE GIVEN AMOUNT OF WATER....it gets replenished CONSTANTLY.

That's why its called A RIVER.

Re: River disappears overnight after loud detonation noise is heard
The karst landforms are the answer; giant caverns were filled after a breakdown in the roof by a huge falling piece of rock. At Carlsbad cave in New Mexico I have seen how big underground caverns can grow and believe me rooms were large enough to stand a thirty story office building upright. One single stone called "Iceberg Rock" had fallen from the roof of one great chamber and it was as big as a ship; the guides said that when it fell many tens of thousands of years ago that whole ceilings came down in all the adjacent chambers.
All of this activity took place more than a thousand feet underground, and there was nothing at the surface except a small opening where clouds of bats emerged every evening. The whole place was like another world underground, simply big beyond belief. One room was so large that a hot air ballon was used by scientists to explore the upper wall and ceiling openings. It was all like Jules Verne down there, and I could not literally believe what I saw.
So there is absolutely room enough for an entire river to migrate to a new underground channel if a large enough breadown occurred in the roof of one of a series of hidden chambers in Slovenia that opened up access for the water.

The first few pictures are, I guess, of the alleged dry riverbed. But they look like a road. On the first and third pictures it's pretty clear that the land goes down to the left of the path.

Doesn't look like a riverbed to me.

The loud detonation could be the rock fingers the zetas speak of that break apart causing an implosion, that would also open spaces in the ground under the river causing it to drain rather quickly. It's just the first thing I thought of.

Lol sounds like a cloaked ship landed and sucked it all up.

Not the most thought out theory I admit but so far there have been no explanations for the noise

Re: River disappears overnight after loud detonation noise is heard
In May 2007, a huge lake in Chile literally disappeared overnight. The only things left behind was a giant, 30 meter deep pit, icebergs, and dry soil!

All of the water and its contents were gone. Despite the fact this strange incident took place more than two years ago, word is just now getting out about it. As word is finally starting to spread across the internet, UFO enthusiasts and paranomalists are putting forth theories as to how something like this could have happened.

This wasn’t a small lake or pond, either---it was approximately five miles long! Located in Patagonia, Chile, the last time geologists saw it was in March 2007 and nothing appeared strange or different about it at all.

What could have happened within just two short months? How could a giant lake disappear out of nowhere? In addition to the lake simply vanishing, a river that flowed from the lake was reduced to a very small stream.

When this story first broke, many people thought it was just a hoax, and indeed it does seem too bizarre to be true. It is true, however, despite how baffling it is. Apparently the icebergs were still left behind---intact, despite the fact that the water was gone.

Geologists also report huge cracks at the bottom of the pit. Did the water somehow drain through the cracks? Was there some sort of earthquake? Why then were the icebergs fine?

One glacier specialist, Andres Rivera, explained to a Chilean newspaper that the lake itself did not even exist three decades ago.

So, is it possible that the landscape in that part of the world is reforming itself? Geologists and glacier specialists are currently doing tests to see what they can find out about the bizarre landscape in that area.

While some are holding out to see if there could be any scientific explanation about what happened, some media reports are trying to claim that the water was actually drained by UFO’s! Is this just media sensationalism, or something more? Whether there is a scientific explanation for what happened or paranormal, only time will tell.

This isn’t the first time a lake disappeared out of nowhere. There have been a few instances in the past where an earthquake caused water to drain.

The only problem with this theory in this case in point is that there had been no reports of any earthquakes in that particular area in spring of 2007.

Hmmm..

Yesterday there was a News story on my ISP Front Page about a River that expanded rapidly taking over nearby towns. I only read the title and not the story - so I don't know where that was. Maybe the water went there(?)

Let me go see if I can find that article....

Zidar did it.

Yes, we know here which concrete Zidar is. Maybe he need water for Gadaffi in Lybia now. Big business.

Zidar = English; Mason.

Free Masons maybe did that. :-)

.

I never made that connection... My family name is Zidar -- perhaps someone in my lineage was a freemason??? My grandmother is from Kamnik and my grandfather from Ljubljana....

Zidar is biggest constructor business in Slovenia. And also...

Ha, hi there from Kamnik. :-)

.

Hello!!!.... and Dober Dan?? or Dober Vecer... not sure what time it is there now...

"Dober vecer" already. 18.30. (Good evening)
Thank you. "Dober dan" (Good day) to you in US. Where?

.

I'm near Cleveland in Ohio....

Expected, because there is the most large community of Slovenians in USA.

Hi, there.

One more surprise for you. Family name of my mother is Zidar, too. So, maybe we are even relatives. She is from near Ribnica (English; Fish-town). All her brothers and sisters, so my relatives too, live very near Toronto, Canada. Funny, how world is small...

Good to have contact with you. Pozdravi tvoje doma.

.

Really!? Perhaps we are related from your mother's side to my father's... it really is a small world!! I hope all is well in Slovenija tonight!!

P.S. My Slovene is really bad :( ... The language was never passed down unfortunately.... so I need some help with Pozdravi tvoje doma....
