And as few understand nor achieve such, they follow road maps prescribed by others who have also not achieved such states - mental roadmaps that focus the mind on denial of desire - on denial of possessions - of total austerity - of total silliness. For detachment or surrender is not a goal, and certainly not a mentally achieved state. Detachment and surrender are the natural byproducts of one who can exist freely and impeccable in the moment without prejudgment, expectation, nor attachment to the moment and what it might or might not bring. And THIS, is a function of consciousness. Of advanced consciousness. Of a consciousness that identifies with the screen of life and not with the individual images and events that appear on the screen. And so, detachment is a state of being - being purely, freely and exclusively in the moment. It is not a denial of anything or any part of life. For to deny is to engage. And to engage is NOT to be detached. Last Edited by twitter this on 01/19/2011 06:20 PM "Life. It's not for everyone." |
