Seriously...has there EVER been a better movie than the 1979 classic "Alien"?

Aliens is better, but yeah still amazing even by today's standards.

Yup.

I have seen few movies at theatres in my life however, Aliens I viewed at the Plattsburgh AFB theatre when it was released and when the alien sprung out from the chest I was surprised and ended up in real pain over the event.

I had been eating popcorn with my date, we were down to the bottom dregs, and I had a couple of un-popped kernels in my mouth and when the alien emerged, I ended up breaking a filling, was in intense pain, and almost crushed my dates arm.

It is all about memories I experienced pain from my tooth and my date-experienced pain from my grip we later laughed after the movie, as it remains unforgettable.

My mother watched it on Yokota AFB and when the alien came out of that guy she flung her arms out, hitting both my father and my brother in the chest, yelling, "THAT'S ENOUGH!", and she walked out of the theater and walked home alone.

I can still watch Alien 1&2 over and over.

My first scary movie though, was "Don't be afraid of the dark"

My brother and I watched it on tv sitting there with KITCHEN KNIVES in our hands, ready to defend ourselves, our parents were out for the night.

I've never seen it again, I want to find it.

Remember the scene with the black president singing to the audience at the podium. That came true. Plus I saw a thread where water products are now advertising that they have electrolites! Also came true.

Technically it's a comedy but it sure scared the shit out of me!

Aliens is great, saw someone mentioned Lebowski, also a complete movie. But the winner is, hands down, Apocalypse Now.

For alien movies I prefer The Thing with Kurt Russell. Awesome movie.
