Just turned on my TV and a special message popped up from Verizon FIOS announcing the following:

*ACCESS TO TV JAPAN WILL BE FREE FOR A LIMITED TIME. TUNE TO CHANNEL 1770.

*IN SUPPORT OF DISASTER RELIEF EFFORTS IN JAPAN, VERIZON CUSTOMERS CAN CALL JAPAN FREE THROUGH 4/10.

Unprecedented, and sure brings it home to all of us.
