Figure 13 shows orbital and commercial suborbital launch successes vs. failures for the period from January 2009 to March 2009. 

Partially-successful orbital launch events are those where the launch vehicle fails to deploy its payload to the appropriate orbit, but the payload is able to reach a useable orbit via its own propulsion systems. Cases in which the payload does not reach a useable orbit or would use all of its fuel to do so are considered 
failures.

Semi-Annual Launch Report Second Half of Fiscal  Year 2011

Figure 9 shows orbital launch successes and failures from April 2011 through September 2011. 

From April 2011 to September 2011 there were three launch failures.  From September 2010 to April 2011 there were four launch failures.  

Total = 45 launches

My guess . . . it is a planet . . . possibly Venus . . . the morning star . . . when a digital camera focuses at the extreme end of its capability . . . algorithms take over and fill in details that are really not there. . . when you see a pattern over an entire object good chance that is what has happened . . . possibly JPEG compression artifacts . . .my guess. . .

1) The decade of 1990s had a dip in stratospheric aerosols.  This dip (see below) was caused  by the clearing of the atmosphere in the 90s.

"Hofmann and coworkers (12–14) argued that the “background” stratospheric aerosol layer increased by 5- 9%/year through the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s, and again at about 5-7% in the 2000s. However, in the 1990s stratospheric aerosols decreased by similar magnitudes. "

2) Within the same article cited above are definitive statements that stratospheric particulate (aerosols) increased during the late  1990s - 2000s effectively reversing the negative trend in the early 1990s using three different methods . . . 


"Multiple instruments have been used at Mauna Loa for estimating or measuring total aerosol optical depth and atmospheric transmission. Here we present observations taken there on the cleanest days, when much of the aerosol burden likely resides in the stratosphere. Figure 2 shows three independent data records that all indicate increases in aerosol optical depth (or, equivalently, decreases in transmission) at Mauna Loa from the late 1990s to the late 2000s: from ground-based transmission data using the pyrheliometer ratioing methodology (20, 21), a Precision Filter Radiometer [1999 to date (22)], and a stratospheric lidar (14). Figure 2 compares these data to the mean tropical and global stratospheric aerosol optical depths from combined satellite observations by the Stratospheric Aerosol and Gas Experiment (SAGE) II (1990–2005), Global Ozone Monitoring by Occultation of Stars (GOMOS, 2002-2009) and the CALIPSO lidar (2006–2010), see (16, 17, 23–25); the overlapping periods of the different satellite instruments allow accurate quantification of the trends over time (17). The four independent data sets from satellite, lidar, total transmission, and aerosol optical depth as shown in Fig. 2 jointly support the view that the “background” stratospheric aerosol layer has changed significantly over about the past decade [see (25)]."

Yes George..Western NY..Why they call this area Upstate is beyond me,but they do..Listen up George,the whole world is in chaos..They have stopped Chemtrailing this area,Not even one episode in 6 months!..The purpose of Chemtrails is to control the weather,by dimming the Sun..They know what they are doing George..There is a direct correlation of this being the hottest,driest Summer and the absence of Chemtrails..
The Earth is warming real fast and the PTB know it,I hate to say this but maybe Chemtrailing was not a bad idea,however the stuff they use are poisons!!..For some reason they have stopped,and by doing so,this has led to severe droughts and crop failures..Is this what they want??..To create a food shortage??..Remember,many Country's depend on our food exports,if they cant get it there will be food riots overseas..Not good..
That coupled with the explosive situation in the mid-east,spells disaster!..
Keep your eyes to the sky,there are more near earth objects heading this way..There is one that has the Earth as its bulls eye..The scenario is being played out,just as I was told..Stay safe and be prepared..

I came upon this study and find it interesting . . . the research indicates that Cirrus Cloud reductions (through a type of high tropospheric cloud seeding) could result in slowing global warming and that commercial aviation could be the easiest and cheapest way to accomplish such geoengineering without much of the side effects of sulfur injection for example . . . the amount of cloud seeding material would be small in comparison to the sulfur injected into the stratosphere . . .

Abstract. Greenhouse gases and cirrus clouds regulate outgoing longwave radiation (OLR) and cirrus cloud coverage is predicted to be sensitive to the ice fall speed which depends on ice crystal size. The higher the cirrus, the greater their impact is on OLR. Thus by changing ice crystal size in the coldest cirrus, OLR and climate might be modified. Fortunately the coldest cirrus have the highest ice supersaturation due to the dominance of homogeneous freezing nucleation. Seeding such cirrus with very efficient heterogeneous ice nuclei should produce larger ice crystals due to vapor competition effects, thus increasing OLR and surface cooling. Preliminary estimates of this global net cloud forcing are more negative than–2.8 W m–2 and could neutralize the radiative forcing due to a CO2 doubling (3.7 W m–2). A potential delivery mechanism for the seeding material is already in place: the airline industry. Since seeding aerosol residence times in the troposphere are relatively short, the climate might return to its normal state within months after stopping the geoengineering experiment. The main known drawback to this approach is that it would not stop ocean acidification. It does not have many of the drawbacks that stratospheric injection of sulfur species has.

Thanks for the new post, George. Glad to see you back. The spraying of chem trails is getting worse in my area. Going out of town tomorrow and sure that it's going to be just as bad where I'm headed. Kinda comparing the locations now.

Would like to understand more about the affects on the acidification of the oceans. I need a re read.

Ocean acidification is the name given to the ongoing decrease in the pH of the Earth's oceans, caused by the uptake of anthropogenic carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere.[1] About 30-40% of the carbon dioxide released by humans into the atmosphere dissolves into the oceans, rivers and lakes [2][3]. To maintain chemical equilibrium, some of it reacts with the water to form carbonic acid. Some of these extra carbonic acid molecules split up to give a carbonate ion and two hydrogen ions, thus increasing the ocean’s "acidity" (H+ ion concentration). This increasing acidity is thought to have a range of direct undesirable consequences such as depressing metabolic rates in jumbo squid[4] and depressing the immune responses of blue mussels[5]. (These chemical reactions also happen in the atmosphere, and as about 20% of anthropogenic CO2 emissions are absorbed by the terrestrial biosphere[3], also in the ground soils between absorbed CO2 and soil moisture. Thus anthropogenic CO2 emissions to the atmosphere can increase the acidity of land, sea and air.)
