Nuclear Expert Arnie Gundersen, Fairewinds Energy Education: The NRC is not really telling too, too much […]

"There’s something called a PNO out, a preliminary notice of occurrence, and the NRC has said that the normal shutdown cooling and the fuel pool cooling were both lost at Oyster Creek and also that there was a loss of offsite power.

So what that means is the nuclear fuel pool started to heat up and Oyster Creek started to bring in some diesel fire pumps, apparently they got the situation rectified before turning the pumps. They were in a position where they were bringing in diesel fire pumps in order to keep the nuclear fuel pool cool because of all the problems they were having as a result of Sandy"

1. Rofl
2. Nearly every Accident, even when they lost a tiny Screw,
was reported to the Nuclear Agency but the People had
and have no Interest so they didn't look for it.

In a Way it is like H2G2 when the Vogons came to destroy the World
to make room for a Hyper-Space Highway,
the Humans asked, flabbergasted,
"Why you didn't told us"
and the Vogons respond that
"they done so since Thousands of Years"
but on one of the Main-Planets of the Galaxy!

You can watch nearly the whole History of Nuclear Plants (of the West but afaik not the East)
in the right Place!

Briefing on Fukushima children's thyroid screening exposes residents' dissatisfaction
Around 70 Fukushima1 residents attended the session, during which Suzuki emphasized that it was highly unlikely that thyroid cancer rates would rise at this point, and that the results for children in Fukushima Prefecture were not out of the ordinary. He also sought understanding from residents, saying that epidemiological studies on thyroid tumors in children had never before been conducted in Japan.

Some participants expressed concern that the next round of tests for children who were given a grade of A2 (having cysts 20 millimeters or smaller), comprising the second largest group of children at around 35 percent after the 65 percent who were graded A1 (having no cysts), would not be for another two years.

Mayor of disaster-hit Minamisoma urges national gov't to learn from tragedy
Minamisoma Mayor Katsunobu Sakurai says Japan is moving in the wrong direction despite last year's twin natural disasters and nuclear crisis which he says provided the country with an excellent opportunity to change itself for the better.

"I seriously question whether politicians on the national level really understand the reality we are facing," he says, adding that the Fukushima tragedy could have been a golden opportunity and a turning point for Japan.

Nearly one year and eight months after the Great East Japan Earthquake and tsunami triggered the disaster at the Fukushima No. 1 Nuclear Power Plant near his city, Sakurai and his staff are still working nonstop.

He paid a visit to Tokyo recently to prod the central government to speed up the radiation decontamination process. But he says his talks with officials of the Reconstruction Agency and the Environment Ministry on Oct. 31 made little headway due to the difficulty in securing temporary storage facilities for contaminated soil before finding long-term storage facilities.

Sakurai is as frustrated with the protracted decontamination work in his city as the way the government, mass media and business leaders are treating the Fukushima nuclear disaster like a thing of the past and are supporting the restart of nuclear reactors.

When Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda signaled his intention in June to go along with the restarts of the No. 3 and No. 4 reactors at the Oi Nuclear Power Plant, the mayor was meeting with residents living in temporary housing and evacuation centers.

"They asked me, 'Are we completely abandoned?'" he recalled.

I agree with that, we may lose the last Chance to stop
the nuclear Madness but i am sure that this will not
come without any Side-Effects for the Japanese Hive!

Unproven parts in S.Korean nuclear reactors
South Korea has announced plans to immediately shut down 2 nuclear reactors to replace thousands of parts that were shipped with fabricated warranties.

The Knowledge Economy Ministry revealed to reporters on Monday that 8 parts suppliers have been faking their warranties since 2003. A total of 5,233 such parts are reportedly in use in 5 nuclear reactors.

The ministry says the parts in question were "ordinary" things such as fuses and power switches, and are unrelated to the reactors themselves. It maintains that the parts will not cause radiation leaks.

Japan mulls gas pipeline from Russian far east to hub near Tokyo
TOKYO — Japan is considering a 400 billion yen pipeline stretching from Russia’s far east to an industrial hub near Tokyo, as it eyes new energy supplies following the Fukushima crisis, a major utility said on Monday.

The proposed 1,400-kilometer-long offshore pipeline would start in Russia’s Sakhalin island and trace a course south along the Pacific coastline to near Japan’s capital, according to a spokesman for Tokyo Gas.

Decision on Oi nuclear plant faultline postponed
TOKYO — Experts have postponed a decision on whether a faultline underneath Japan’s only operating nuclear plant is active or what to do with the facility.

A five-member team commissioned by the Nuclear Regulation Agency inspected the Oi plant in Fukui Prefecture on Friday to examine a suspected faultline there. Two of Oi’s four reactors resumed operation in July for the first time since last year’s nuclear crisis triggered by a quake and tsunami that hit another plant.

The experts agreed Sunday that part of Oi’s underground structure slid as far back as 125,000 years ago but couldn’t tell if it was because of an active faultline or a landslide. They will meet again on Wednesday.

Active faults found running through Nagoya: researchers
Two active faults have been newly discovered in Nagoya, with part of them running just beneath major highways in the metropolis for about 5 kilometers, researchers said Monday.

A team of researchers at Nagoya University and Hiroshima University has warned of the possibility that the faults, which extend vertically through the city for at least 10 km, "could trigger a magnitude-7-class earthquake or even greater ones."

When i spoke with one of my Profs. about this
we couldn't believe it, the Relationship between
Russia and Japan is ca. 1.000 Times worse
than the Relations between Israel and the Iran
or China and Taiwan!

Nearly none of the older Population of Japan
trusted the Russians, nearly none of them want
to do business with them and of course no one
trusted the Russians in Energy Matters,
do be dependend from Russia
in that Way that they are able
to let the Japanese freeze in the long Winter,
for the Eldery this is a Paradox!

For us (the People who are Objectiv) this is a big Surprise!

Nuclear tie-up will boost region

South Yorkshire’s Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre could benefit from a ground breaking agreement between Japanese nuclear reactor designer Hitachi and Rolls-Royce.

The agreement was announced after it was revealed that Hitachi had acquired Horizon Nuclear Power, the stalled project to build up to six nuclear reactors in the UK.

Under the deal, the two companies will explore how Rolls-Royce can support Hitachi by providing high value added manufacturing, engineering and technical services.
