Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1500876This maybe the beginning of the dissolution of the United States Union. Every American that I have talked to about this who knows about the "Super Congress" is enraged. I agree, and dam it hurts to see this reported like it is normal. It is almost unreal. Enraged yes. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 1500876 United States 08/10/2011 12:26 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | maybe we should call these "picks" and tell them that if they serve on that committee then they will have violated Article 1, Section 7 of the Constitution: "All bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Bills." The HOUSE THE WHOLE HOUSE ONLY THE HOUSE! |

The people cannot be all, & always, well informed... If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty... Let them take arms... What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. " - Thomas Jefferson in 1787 |

I'm hooping Pelosi picks Barney Fart Franks. These stupid fuckers need to be impeached! Cry about the Tea Party all they want, they are the ones that gave birth to the Tea Party Movement! |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 1349884 Canada 08/10/2011 12:50 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Additionally, Murray is expected to co-chair the committee -- officially named the Joint Select Committee on Deficit Reduction -- along with a still unnamed House Republican. A spokesman for Reid did not respond to a request for comment. Reid’s decision to tap Murray will likely be met with scrutiny, as she is also chairing the Senate Democrats’ campaign operation for the 2012 election cycle. But she is also a member of leadership, a senior member of the Budget Committee, and a woman on what is likely to be a male-dominated committee. It could be worse. For instance, Kent Conrad or Joe Manchin (who lobbied for the position) or Mark Warner would be worse, from the standpoint of protecting Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid or raising taxes on rich people. One token tea party aligned pick, the ONLY one who voted against the debt deal. Way to go Boner and McCuntell you got your establishment boys in there. I'm sure they'll be fighting the good fight for the people. HAH!!!! Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1349884When are you going to get in your friggin head??? There are no politicians that are fighting for any of us....unless you are the elite...it doesnt matter who they put there (dem or repub) we are all fucked!!!! |
Factual Error User ID: 1482962 United States 08/10/2011 01:07 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I would think they should pick some people who understand math. Jon Kyle is the idiot who said on the floor of the senate "If you want an abortion, you go to Planned Parenthood, and that's well over 90 percent of what Planned Parenthood does,". But Planned Parenthood's records show that only 3 percent of its funds are spent on abortions, compared to 35 percent each on contraception and sexually transmitted disease screening and treatment. Senator Kyle's office explained the mistake,""His remark was not intended to be a factual statement, but rather to illustrate that Planned Parenthood, an organization that receives millions of dollars in taxpayer funding, does subsidize abortions." Last Edited by Factual Error on 08/10/2011 01:08 PM Not intended to be a factual statement. |

The politicians in Washington serve one master, the NWO. The stupidest part about it is when everything does fall apart and the NWO is in place, these clowns will be standing on the sidelines crying because they are pushed aside and didn't get any of the goodies promised to them. They will have destroyed America for their own greed and in the end they will lose everything. |
Epic Beard Guy User ID: 1079209 United States 08/10/2011 01:17 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The super congress is unconstitutional to begin with, and that is where we should be attacking. If they can make this thing stick, we really need to impress on them that business as usual will not fly. Stop the debt, stop the spending! Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst. "America is at that awkward stage. It's too late to work within the system, but too early to shoot the bastards." -- Claire Wolfe |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1349884Boehner appointed House Republican Conference chairman Jeb Hensarling of Texas to be the co-chair opposite Washington Senate Democrat Patty Murray, as well as two committee chairs: Ways & Means chairman Dave Camp and Energy & Commerce chairman Fred Upton, both of Michigan. From the Senate, McConnell chose Jon Kyl of Arizona, Pat Toomey of Pennsyvania, and Rob Portman of Ohio. Of the six Republicans named to the committee, only Toomey voted against the debt ceiling bill. None of the senators chosen were members of the Gang of Six who have already been working on similar issues for months. [link to spectator.org] All traitors |
