44th floor was moving around everyone felt dizzy, I went downstairs to see if building was intact, firetruck sirens all over downtown Montreal...It shook worse than last years EQ

Yes, colleagues from our Toronto office reported their building shaking as well, about a minute before ours started to.

Is this the same quake? If so you just added on another 400 miles to this (if true and, the same)

So by my estimation this quake was over 1000 miles in length.

I am in Western Quebec and felt my entire body shake. Was very strange.

Yesterday I witnessed 4 (yes 4) car accidents. That is highly unusual and there were actually more like 7 and that is unusual for my area. I just found it weird and wondered if something was up.

I read about someone saying their mother passed out and ended up in a ditch when the EQ happened. Just a thought that maybe it fucks people up when big shit is about to go down.

This happenend about 15 minutes ago... My guess is that it'S the same

from South Carolina to montreal over to ohio all the way from Virginia? is it cause it was very deep instead of shallow?

well it was 6 inches of movement back and forth here in virginia thats for sure, surprised nothing broke

Also in dowtown Montreal. Yes it shook alot, building here felt like it was moving in a circular pattern. Quite dizzy from it were the others in here

On the east coast, ground is mostly super-hard bedrock as opposed to the softer soil west of the Mississippi meaning that vibrations will travel further thru hard rock than it will thru softer soil.

...and retain vibrational strength.

Interesting... Anyone recall last years EQ that was also widespread? There were tons of posts about it on here as well.

Earthquake Originated in Virginia at 1:51pm and was felt all the way to Toronto, New York and Montreal.

That was pretty sizeable
