Private sector does almost everything better Government wants us to reward them for failure. |

Of course we all know it would be painful and they don't care about any of that mushy human rights crap, they care about the bottom line, which is why they would do a good job at it. 5* . Anonymous Coward User ID: 1299553 Canada 08/24/2011 10:18 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yes, Walmart sure is great, great at draining the money out of your economy. How is it doing by the way? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 506563 As opposed to Home Depot , Kroger , Target, Sears + Costco , K-Mart ? None are local mom & pops and all preceeded Wal-mart. True but Walmart was a pioneer when it came to supplier policies. If suppliers weren't forced to reduce their costs continually to be allowed to sell to Walmart then the drastic measures of cost reduction wouldn't have been so aggressive. Many suppliers were family owned business prior to dealing with Walmart. That doesn't last long when they're forced to shut plants and manufacture overseas if they wish to continue doing business with their biggest, and in some cases, only customer. Remember, their continued great success comes at great expense to the US economy as a whole. |

The people cannot be all, & always, well informed... If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty... Let them take arms... What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. " - Thomas Jefferson in 1787 |

He offered great information and great advice. Sam Walton's advice to Me: Successful people do Successful things. I am a Success and I often think of Mr. Walton, I was already motivated and determined to make it in Life, He just pour more gasoline on my fire ;-) Thanks Sam ! Remember, their continued great success comes at great expense to the US economy as a whole. OK, but it is not a total loss to US (or Canadian) economy. There is still warehousing and transportation industries that are positively impacted, to name a few. Also payroll for employees goes back to local economies. Some take the position that whatever customers save by buying at Walmart can be spent for goods that would not otherwise be purcheased. Some of that extra money surely goes into domestic pockets. Wal-mart has been touting it's increased domestic produced inventory lately. Reduced price usually comes with reduced quality. Some quality issues have driven customers back to more conventional stores. But, the point ET was making is the huge difference between Walt-mart efficiency and BIG government's INefficiency. |

They all have a proven track record of success US government has a record of failure. |

There are plenty of examples of companies not run well. Sears had a model that used to be popular but they refused to change as peoples buying habits did. If you were paying attention you would know this. They would then have sales with huge discounts of 25 to 50%. people bagain flocking to Walmart because they were not driving to several different places bargain hunting and opted more for lower every day prices. |
