A family of 10-12 could afford to live on the dividend income through the winter. Not so anymore, and how come, the first gulf war was under way, gas soared to 1.78 a gallon.....now its currently 3.69 a gallon, I guess the Japs and the chineese cant afford high oil prices, since all that Alaskan oil is sold to them instead of kept in our own country. We have some of highest gas prices in nation, electricity rates are high and the fuel oil needed for heating runs $400+ per month. AND if you want to leave here you find Alaska Airlines has you captive and its $1000 a ticket to lower 48. So this PFD comes no where close to covering expenses living here. |
