No problem at all =D.

In this morning (here in finland is really cold morning) looks like whole santorini-kolumbo fault line is active. Here you can se how there is earthquakes whole fault line. That fault line is from turkey coast to the north west santorini where main earthquake swarm is:

[link to www.emsc-csem.org]

I dont know how this fault line moves but anyway for sure its moves that santorni magmachamber.

There is detected that 107cubic meter but santorini magmachamber is so huge that it is possible and more likely that kolumbo and santorini get its power from same source.

It is also possible that there will be new submarine volcano in this big swarm spot and also it is possible magma source is same than santorini. Then it is massive supervolcano.

Lets wait what kind information scientists will realase in this week.

Here couple santorini seismograph again:

Here is link to greek page.

Short translation: -

-There is magma 4km depth and scientist fears that it will rise.

-They told that there is some evidence that magma spot is also growing.

-Place is nea kameni so same place where happen that vei 7eruption.

-Data is collected whith laser beams, satelites and scientist own info.

-There new records about gas and it came from nea kaemni and scientists think that there is holes already.

Really short translation: Thera volcano is online and it is maybe soon ready to erupt. This is scenario what scientist fears.

And this one is extermely agressive. History shows that if it cames there is coming about VEI 2 eruption.

Looks like mother earth prepare to solve some financial problems and tuna fish fishing problems in mediterraean sea her own way.

That seismograph data reason is traffic reasno is confirmed. It is always same about 9-18. It can be also wind. Not yet harmonic tremors confirmed.

By the way i think that 4.2 is some kind of error. I dont see anythin in emsc or seismos yet.

Please check this seismogram for Santorini, the one everyone refers to is nearly always messy and incorrect. This one is on Nea Kameni and shows a much cleaner impression of what goes on below: [link to www.geophysics.geol.uoa.gr]

Really really good find luis. I didnt find this seismo. Thank you.

You can see those really sharp moving in this seismograph. I think it came from when magma and gas breaking rock. It is harmonic. There is not much magma but it really looks like same what seismos say: santorini is making its magmachamber alive. There is not eruption danger now in magma chamber but when this seismograph goes same way than that saint graph it is time to brave.

I mean that line time: 5.30 and there is really small buble 8.30 also.

Where did you find that one? Ecxallent data.

This is seismograph what to watch.

Now i'm registered =D. Looks like also that maybe they dont give all earthquake infomation what is going on in santorini. Those quakes are really small but agressive.

Re: Santorini (nea kameni volcano) unrest. Water tempature in caldera rising! Magma spot also detected 4km depth.
This is from Wired.com Eruptions blog:

Santorini, Greece

The seismicity at Santorini in Greece continues – however, the situation has become confusing as there have also been a number of earthquakes nearby between Santorini and Crete that have gotten people’s attention as well. However, regarding the volcano in question, the most important news was some of the first pieces of information about what might be happening at Santorini. An article in a Greek newspaper this weekend has information from Greek scientists watching the volcano. The article mentioned that the caldera has seen ~1 cm/yr deflation between 1993-2010, but since then, the caldera has inflated slightly. The inflation is to the north side of the caldera and seems to be correlated with seismic swarms. Carbon dioxide emissions are currently at 39 tonnes/day, which is relatively low in the grand scheme of volcanoes (usually we think hundreds of tonnes/day), but is a change for Santorini. The seawater in the caldera has also been warming, although the extent of this warming is not mentioned. Finally, in the most ambiguous piece of information, an intrusion has been inferred at 4 km depth north of Nea Kameni where the seismicity is centered. The volume has been listed at “107 cubic meters”, however I am fairly confident that it should be 107 cubic meters, which is a fairly small volume. Take all of this news in total, and it does appear that magma is intruding under Santorini – the question remains: will it erupt and if so, how large of an eruption might we expect.

About that 107cubic magma.

It is really small amtoun yes but there is couple thing what to think and scientist thinks that too.

-How it is there? Where it cames.

And answer is: Plate movement. This place generates energy when africa plate and eura-asian plates moves. Think those plates. Then you can think what is energy in this spot. What kind of sparkle came when you hit europe and afica together. They are big rock to hit. This is place where that sparkle cames up. It have been happened and it happens again.

Also there is lots of inromation that this place is most closer lookded volcano in world. But data what is public is really small.

Re: Santorini (nea kameni volcano) unrest. Water tempature in caldera rising! Magma spot also detected 4km depth.
This paper reviews geological andhistorical evidence for the eruption and tsunamireported to have occurred in 1650 in the areaof Mt. Columbo, Thera Island, Greece. The tsunami isbelieved to have been generated as a consequence ofthe eruption of Mt. Columbo 6.5 km NE of Thera Island.Historical documents state that the tsunami flooded upto 2 miles inland and destroyed many engineeredstructures. We present lithostratigraphic evidencefrom one abandoned trench and two trench excavationsclose to sea level in the villages of Kamari andPerissa respectively, which lie well within thereported inundation zone of the tsunami. The resultspresented show that no marine- (tsunami) depositedsediments are preserved at these locations.Alternative hypotheses of discontinuous sedimentdeposition and over estimation of the event magnitudeare considered to explain the observations presentedhere. The data may have important implications for thedevelopment of hazard zone maps, risk assessment, vulnerability reduction and for emergency managementofficials. [link to www.springerlink.com]

There have been today 2.9 northfroma santorini and now 2.5 quake south from santorini. Places are different than before but fault line is active. Really strange that caldera itself is totally quiet.

There have been in that fault line where santorini is only one quake. It was front of crete and 3.1. I think that seismoraph react that one. But seismos are intresting because there have been really unsual movement lots of and i know it is not traffic maybe wind but i dont know because evryseismo reacts that.

Nothing special yet in santorini.

Unusual movement on THT1 seismometer in Athinios at about 1330 UT is probably the Blue Star ferry!
