Opec declared its intention to implement the quota system on Iraq

Hassan Rashid

After more than twenty years out of Iraq from the regime production quotas which are the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) members, the organization announced recently that it will return Iraq to this system again when with its passed three million barrels a day.

Iraqi oil ministry spokesman Assem Jihad clarified that Iraq continues exports outside the quota system for the time being, but it will start negotiations with OPEC when he arrives its production to four million barrels per day, and not three million.

Jihad said in a statement made by Radio Free Iraq that even in case of agreement with OPEC on the entry of the quota system, Iraq's share must be commensurate with large reserves and exports available, he pointed out that OPEC must take into account that Iraq has a long period of oil exports, when you think about to return once again to a quota system for export.

It is worth mentioning that Iraq's share under the OPEC prior to the imposition of UN sanctions imposed on Iraq in 1990 was three million (800) thousand barrels per day, but Iraqi oil expert hamza al-jawahiri says Iraq back to this level of export is a great injustice against him.

To al-Jawaheri this confirms that Iraq may withdraw from OPEC in the absence of commensurate with the share of the oil reserves and its production, مايشكل is a great loss for the organization. He said.

Message from Phoenix:

As you can see in this article Iraqi Vice President Hashemi (member of the Iraqi List which is Allawi’s party) has had an arrest warrant put forward for his arrest for terrorist acts within the nation of Iraq.
Many will remember that it was Hassemi in the past that vetoed important laws about the election and who has attempted in the past to stop all forward progress in Iraq at all cost.

Last week we had a terrorist car bombing in the Green Zone and the car bomb was directed at and intended to kill the Prime Minister of Iraq, Malaki.
After investigation it was discovered the car used in the attack was owned by a prominent Iraq political leader in a high position of government. The car bomb was owned by one of the bodyguards of this political leader and now it appears that the plan to kill Prime Minister Malaki was hatched by the Iraqi List (Allawi’s party) and they have been caught.
Arrest have been made and warrants have been issued for more arrest.
Some will remember that Allawi who is head of this group that just attempted to assassinate the Prime Minister of Iraq was a former Bathist Party member who worked as an assassin for Saddam Hussain!
Allawi was one of Saddam’s closest friends before he (Allawi) was caught trying to hatch a plan to assassinate Saddam to take his position from him as dictator of Iraq. After being caught by Saddam for the assassination attempt Allawi fled for his life to London where he started to work for the CIA.
Most of the political delays over the past 2 years in Iraq have been because of the disruptions caused by the Iraqi List.
Also Hashemi was the party leader in Iraq of the “Muslim Brotherhood” until they changed the party name in 2009 but the party remained but just under a new name.
If you are not aware it is the same “Muslim Brotherhood” that has torn down all of the governments in the Middle East over the past year by assassination and violent overthrow.
So what we have just seen was an attempt of the Muslim Brotherhood to attack the government of Iraq from within by assassination and all done from within the cover of the Iraqi List.
This situation will be taken care of and needed to be taken care of and I expect as soon as these corrupt persons from the Iraqi List (Muslim Brotherhood) are arrested and removed from power we will see quick forward movement in the nation of Iraq.
The truth shall prevail and evil will not be allowed to succeed.

Med says to (09:04:34): I AM SURPRISED THAT THE MINISTRY OF FINANCE CAME OUT AT ALL AND SAID ANYTHING ABOUT THE MONETARY POLICY BEING THEY HAVE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH IT
THIS WAS CLEARED UP ABOUT 14 MONTHS AGO WHEN A MEDIA BATTLE ERUPTED BETWEEN THE TWO ENTITIES

AND CBI MADE IT CLEAR AND AGAIN THIS MONTH IT WAS MADE CLEAR WHO WAS IN CHARGE

ALSO ANOTHER BAFFLING THING IS SHABIBI CLAIMS THE RIGHT TO ISSUE NEW DENOMS AND RAISE THE ZERO’S FROM THE NOMINAL VALUE BASED ON A REQUEST IN WRITING BY THE GOI

ALSO THEY JUST FINISHED THE DISCUSSION WITH THE FINANCE COMMITTEE ON THE PROGRAM TO REVALUE … Read More Link on Right _I HAVE NOT SEEN ANY VOTE NOR HAVE THEY EVEN MET ON IT SINCE THE DISCUSSION

AND WHO SPOKE FROM THE MOF ISAAWI IS THE MOF AND HE LAST JANUARY IS THE ONE WHO BACKED AND REQUESTED CBI TO MOVE FORWARD

SOMETHING HERE IS NOT RIGHT NOR DOES ALL THE FACTS ADD UP TO THESE STATEMENTS IN THE PRESS

guardian says to (09:09:24): no they don’t

Med says to (09:09:44): RIGHT NOW THOUGH AND I HATE TO SAY IT WE HAVE BIGGER PROBLEMS NOW WE HAVE TO FOLLOW MORE CLOSELY

starlord6d6d says to (09:10:04): they are not communicating with each other, it’s like they are each in their own little world guardian says to (09:10:09): if they were trying to confuse us, they succeeded

Med says to (09:10:24): MOST DEFINATELY GUARDIAN I AM GOING TO KEEP A CLEAR HEAD ON THIS AND NOT GET CAUGHT UP IN THAT BS

BUT THE ISSUE OF THESE ARRESTS AND RESIGNATIONS AND THE BOYCOTT INDEFINATELY BY THE LIST IS A VERY BIG DEAL

IT STOPS ANY PASSAGE BY PARLIAMENT IN IT’S TRACKS AND THEN IT WILL BE UP TO GOV. SHABIBI TO INTERVENE AS HE STATES HE CAN AT ANY MOMENT HE DEEMS NECESSARY TO PROTECT THE MONETARY POLICY AND TO COMBAT INFLATION

starlord6d6d says to (09:12:29): it should be now that he interviense

Tennessee Gamble says to (09:14:20): Time for SHABIBI to act and show he is tired of all the games. He tried to do it the right way, now it is time to do it the best way, which is best for the country.

starlord6d6d says to (09:14:36): he should.

Med says to (09:16:02): HERE IS ONE PROBLEM GANG AND I THINK YOU WILL ALL AGREE

REVALUING THE DINAR UNDER THE CURRENT CIRCUMSTANCES POLITICALLY COULD BE DISASTROUS FOR THE DINAR

IF SHABIBI’S GOAL IS TO GET COUNTRIES TO HAVE CONFIDENCE IN HIS DINAR HE ALSO HAS TO BE ABLE TO GIVE GUARANTEES THAT STABILITY WITHIN THE GOVT IS THERE IT IS NOT AND THAT IS OBVIOUS

WHO WILL WANT TO ACCEPT A CURRENCY NO MATTER IF IT IS ONE TO ONE THAT HAS A COUNTRY WHERE 1/3 OF IT’S POLITICAL MEMBERS ARE NOT EVEN PART OF THE PARLIAMENT ANYMORE

OR A PM WHO IS ARRESTING EVERY SUNNI IN THE COUNTRY AS A BAATHIST JUST HOW IN THE HELL DOES A 16 YR OLD KID GET ARRESTED AS A BAATHIST HOW THE KID ISNT EVEN OLD ENOUGH TO BE PART OF THE OLD BAATHIST PARTY

Tennessee Gamble says to (09:20:07): makes perfect sense to me Med, Stability is very important.

starlord6d6d says to (09:20:19): perhaps he was arrested as leverage against someone else?

Med says to (09:20:23): ALSO THESE ACTIONS ARE A GUARANTEE OF KMA FROM THE UNSC ON REMOVAL FROM CHAPTER VII

THERE JUST DOES NOT SEEM TO BE ANY COMMON SENSE APPROACH BY MALIKI ON HANDLING OF POLITICAL OPPONENTS

starlord6d6d says to (09:21:28): he seems to lately be desperate that he’s loosing power or something

Med says to (09:21:29): MAKING UP CHARGES

drywall123 says to (09:21:38): I think SHABIBI made another mstake by waiting so long

Med says to (09:21:49): OF COURSE HE DID THE IMF TOLD HIM SO THIS behavior BY MALIKI DOES MAKE HIM LOOK DICTORIAL

starlord6d6d says to (09:23:43): yup, it does

Med says to (09:24:12): ONE THING AND HE CANNOT UNDERESTIMATE THIS THE SUNNI’S ARE A VIOLENT GROUP AND WILL NOT TAKE HAVING THEIR LEADERS ARRESTED BECAUSE THEY DONT LIKE WHAT IS GOING ON

Wow talk about conflicting reports. I have a tendency to believe this report over the one from yesterday as it is from a more reliable source. 2013 is the date mentioned. I highly doubt they can or will wait that long. Pressure is mounting to get the economy moving if they want to have a country in a year from now. sk

Iraqi governmentcalls for an expanded meeting to discuss the current situation

20/12/2011 19:55

Erbil, 20 December / December (Rn) - The Iraqi governmentled by Nuri al-Maliki Tuesday to an expanded meeting to discuss the currentsituation in the country.

In conjunction with the withdrawal of the last U.S. troopsfrom Iraq intensified the political struggle between Maliki and his rivals inthe fragile agreement to share power.

And the escalation of divisions on the back of an arrestwarrant for Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi and isolate the Deputy PrimeMinister Saleh al-Mutlaq from office.

The Iraqi judiciary issued on Monday an arrest warrant foral-Hashemi after being accused of involvement in the implementation of armedattacks against security personnel and officials.

Involves the arrest warrant for the possibility of inflamingsectarian tensions in Iraq following the withdrawal of U.S. troops as theagreement puts the fragile power-sharing in the risk.

He said Iraqi government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh said in astatement that "the Council of Ministers decided to invite the president(Jalal Talabani) and leaders of political blocs in parliament and outsideparliament for a meeting with the Cabinet."

He said that the expanded meeting aims "to discuss thepolitical situation and call for commitment to the Constitution and as a basisand reference that everyone adheres to solve the problems and difficulties forthe political process."

Iraq has boycotted the meetings of deputies and ministers inrecent times, complaining they are being marginalized, although it the largestsingle bloc in the Council.

Being politicians, senior Iraqi talks with al-Maliki andother leaders to contain the situation for fear of exacerbating the crisis thatcould push Iraq back into the midst of sectarian unrest.

Hashemi and demanding the transfer of the investigation withregard to the concerns addressed to the Kurdistan region to ensure the"integrity" of the judiciary. But the judicial authorities in Baghdadrejects this and says that he must be tried before the judge who issued thearrest warrant.

And warns the President of Kurdistan region Masoud Barzaniof the collapse of the political process in the country and called for theurgent convening of a conference involving all political forces to address thecrisis.

He asked Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, two days before theIraqi Council of Representatives to withdraw confidence from the al-Mutlaq, onthe basis that he lacked confidence in the political process.

Hashemi and al-Mutlaq, leader of the Iraqi bloc, a group ofsecular character and reluctantly joined the unity government led by al-Maliki.

Iraq will collapse if oil and gas law is not put in place

Gulf News

In a nutshell: Iraq needs an oil and gas law badly — right now — but the Iraqi central government and provinces are unable agree on the way to go about signing oil contracts.

I have no doubt that this law will be the glue that holds the country together and prevents it from splintering and collapsing into 100 pieces before everyone’s eyes. We don’t need or want another Humpty Dumpty in Iraq, as we have had our share of broken hearts and heads over the past 40 plus years.

Deputy Prime Minister Saleh al-Mutlaq said would apply to the Iraqi Council of Representatives to withdraw confidence in Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, urging him to step down from power. He has sent a request to the last Saturday the House of Representatives to withdraw confidence from the description of al-Mutlaq after the last of the owners

As a "dictator" and came to seek the withdrawal of confidence by the leadership of the state law Yassin Majid, "for incompetence, efficiency and integrity." Mutlaq said, who left Baghdad after the heading to the Kurdistan region in a statement broadcast on Radio Sawa that the list of Iraq can no longer deal with him

He admitted that he had previously Mutlaq al-Maliki described the dictator, but I now realize that al-Maliki "a dictator and unwise," he said, and demanded everyone should be subject to investigation committees and even "clear terrorist of the corrupt."

Mutlaq has warned of the repercussions of the policies of the government on the situation in the country at the present stage, and the expectation that Iraq is a mess in the next phase, especially with the withdrawal of U.S. troops from the country.
