All the Republican U.S. presidents since 1923 have been to the Bohemian Grove at least one time.

I agree with you. It's not about what should be acceptable wear, it' about how you should present yourself to have maximum effect on someone like Gingrich. It's easier for him to dismiss someone who looks like the kind of person he undoubtedly has nothing but contempt for in his day-to-day life.
