Quoting: mehitable 1524722 My mother was descended from King Neil of Ireland through one line and King Duncan of Scotland (the one allegedly murdered by Macbeth) in another. My father was descended largely from poor Yorkshire and Cornish peasants. If both sides of the family had ever met centuries ago, it would have been a hell of a fight. But that's the beauty of America.... Really interesting, Never the twain shall meet, except in America. |

To those who did some ridiculously perverted stuff like smearing blood and perform blood sacrifices? Have bankers changed today? |

First of all, it is very easy to have a tomb like that. All it cost is some money. It is actually much easier to design and build a family crypt than you may think. Do a little more research on the now instead of the then and you can do it. Genealogy can be exciting and fun and interesting and sometimes you can learn several things that you never knew about. I was fortunate in that my family has documentation tracing our family back to the 8th Century, but even in our family that is circumspect as often is the case, someone in the past created links and conclusion jumps based on limited information. Congrats to you. |

Quoting: Madame X Family history is just a lot of fun to delve into. Lighten up people, it's just interesting and fun to find out one is related to someone as cool as de Roos. I know I will never have a tomb like the one he has. :deRoos: He was also a high ranking Knights Templar, the crossed legs are as on the skull and crossbones, the crossbones being crossed leg bones, also the skull and crossbones are found on many many Templar stones. At this point in his reign Philip was faced with extensive financial liabilities, partially inherited from his father's war against Aragon and partially incurred by the cost of his own campaigns against the English and their allies in Flanders. This financial crisis led to rioting in Paris which forced Philip to briefly seek refuge in the Paris Temple - headquarters of the Knights Templar. Philip was substantially in debt to the Knights Templar, a monastic military order whose original role as protectors of Christian pilgrims in the Latin East had been largely replaced by banking and other commercial activities by the end of the 13th century.[11] As the popularity of the Crusades had decreased, support for the military orders had waned, and Philip used a disgruntled complaint against the Knights Templar as an excuse to move against the entire organization as it existed in France, in part to free himself from his debts. from the wiki link above post, the Knights Templar helped him, and he burned them, never trust anyone named, the fair, |
