Every day precisely at noon and again at midnight UT time the magnetosphere usually goes through a bit of wankyness.
What is odd is when it gets all screwed up when it isn't noon or midnight UT time.

When the field does collapse, we will go into the magnetic reversal. Look around you, I suggest it has not yet collapsed, otherwise the sun would have started moving backwards as the rotation slows.

No it won't, the wind is still to high for the pressure image to drop down to blue. Rarely the wind suddenly drops but I don't think that is going to happen.
