I'm over 50 and here's a secret. It's called exercise and controlling your weight. Taking vitamins also helps.

We old folks can do alot of good for our heart just by climbing stairs, hiking uphill...it will take years off.

It's good to eat healthy. But you can never get as much vitamin C from oranges as from pills. I've had good success warding off colds with vitamin C. I'll keep taking it.

I agree Vitamin C does alot of good, but the highest concentration is in Rose Hips.

Here's my experience. I used to get a lot of colds. When I started taking Vitamin C on a regular basis, I began getting less colds. Here's another thing. If I start to feel a sore throat or chills, I'll down about 10 to 15 1000MG pills. If I take them early enough, they usually nuke the cold. If I wait too long, they are less effective.

I am now drinking a designer tea with dandelion and rose hips in it, among other goodies. You could of course buy all these natural ingredients from a health food store and make your own tea, or incorporate it into your food. However I am wondering if heat destroys the vitamins in the tea.
