Quoting: Instant Karma The risk of a heart attack or stroke is cut by a fifth in those who have no sign of heart disease, shows research by scientists at Oxford University. Treatment guidelines should be reviewed in light of the findings, the experts said, and the NHS should impose a blanket policy of prescribing up to 20 million people statins at a potential cost of £240million a year. Currently, the only people considered at high risk, those with a one-in-five chance of having a heart attack in the next 10 years, are given the cholesterol-lowering drugs. Half of men aged 50 or over and almost a third of women qualify for statin treatment. About five million people are thought to take them. National guidelines should be amended to lower the threshold for treatment to those with a one-in-10 risk over a decade, the experts said. [link to www.telegraph.co.uk] What are the odds this study was funded by big Pharma. An outrageous recommendation, given the known side effects of these drugs. They quickly deplete the body of coenzyme Q10, which leads to most of the known side effects, such as congestive heart failure. Dee Woods: Statins linked to diabetes, memory loss Yeah, so they can kill your liver and suck you dry. $$$$$ I eat 2 dozen eggs a week 188. [link to www.thereporteronline.net] |

It's called exercise and controlling your weight. Taking vitamins also helps. Instead of taking vitamins how about eating healthy, whole real, chemical and pesticide free food? It's good to eat healthy. But you can never get as much vitamin C from oranges as from pills. I've had good success warding off colds with vitamin C. I'll keep taking it. |

I agree Vitamin C does alot of good, but the highest concentration is in Rose Hips. I'll look into that. I have taken vitamin C pills with Rose Hips. Here's my experience. I used to get a lot of colds. When I started taking Vitamin C on a regular basis, I began getting less colds. Here's another thing. If I start to feel a sore throat or chills, I'll down about 10 to 15 1000MG pills. If I take them early enough, they usually nuke the cold. If I wait too long, they are less effective. |

You could of course buy all these natural ingredients from a health food store and make your own tea, or incorporate it into your food. However I am wondering if heat destroys the vitamins in the tea. |
