[ link to www.dailymail.co.uk] A 59-year-old man is out of hospital after spending a month in intensive care due to infection from the bubonic plague. Paul Gaylord, 59, developed the symptoms after he was bitten by a stray cat his family had adopted. The cat, named Charlie, had caught a rodent which was stuck in his throat. It is thought that the rat was infected by fleas, which carry the disease. Read more: [ link to www.dailymail.co.uk] Hopefully the cat was caught. And there are no more rodents with the plague. Could get ugly fast. |

this guy's story is bizarre as he claims a cat was choking on a mouse,so he went to help out the cat...and the cat bites him--so how the hell does a choking cat BITE ? never mind he shot the cat etc. supposedly his house is in bad shape and has mice.
the disease is carried by infected fleas and spread by rodents. |
