this is me, adding my voice and attempting to change the world one good deed at a time <3

forgive me for asking (i can't open the link) but how is "adding my voice" going to help fighting the world hunger? is this some kind of metaphor for money or something?

in case they're just asking for support on a declarative level - i don't do that since i'm not competing for Miss World, ffs. I mean, it's self evident that the majority would want the world hunger to end??!!

and another thing - personally, i think that using celebrities in these kinds of campaigns is a bit vomit-inducing considering their excessive lifestyles. so Beyonce wants to fight world hunger, huh? And all that in a dress that would feed an African village for a year. It's a bit ironic, that's all I'm saying.

and these fucking humanitarian organizations - they've totally lost my trust!

whaat they do is that they're shifting the blame for hunger to Joe Common to contribute from his already sparse funds and then burn more than half of the money for administrative costs. Humanitarian organizations have become big businesses and benefit the first world more than the third. Poor children of the world will remain to be hungry as long as we put up with this corrupt system that needs people to live in poverty giving out alms is not going to change it.

COMFORT SOMEONE IN HOSPITAL
VOLUNTEER AT A LOCAL CHARITY
GIVE AWAY SOMETHING YOU DON'T USE
MOW YOUR NEIGHBOUR'S LAWN
TUTOR A DISADVANTAGED YOUNG PERSON
CLEAN UP YOUR LOCAL PARK
