It looked like a contrail that exploded. I heard later that it was a test rocket. It was a spectacular site. |

Slightly earlier similar lights were seen over the city of Austin, Texas, USA (see the second video below of this article). The distance between Phoenix and Austin is more than 2,000 kilometers.
