North of the center of the archipelago. Activity will most likely take a different turn now with this quake. It does about 90% of the time when a quake hits in that region.

- 2 earthquakes have been added by IGN
- GPS deformations :
* No ultra-rapid data yesterday and today at La Restinga (REST), but the Rapid data (better quality) show a very strong increase of 3 cm yesterday (against the ceiling of the graph!)
* same story at El Pinar (PINA) although the lifting was “only” 2 cm
* same story at Frontera (FRON) with a vertical lifting of about 1 cm.
We expect todays Rapid data later today (comes several hours after the Ultra Rapid data (black crosses))

- The volcano was very active during the evening hours. 6 earthquakes were added to the list during the last 4 hours of the day bringing the total yesterday to 17. Depths between 13 and 9 km.
- Only 2 so far this morning. A M1.1 at 11 km depth and a M1.0 also at 11 km depth.

- The day ended yesterday with 2 more volcanic earthquakes. One with a Magnitude of M1.3 at a depth of 10 km and one at a depth of 28 km with a Magnitude of 1.0
- The day has started with more activity (see below)
- GPS deformations (vertical) : Only Frontera shows a new value today. The new UR (Ultra-Rapid) value is approx. 1 cm less than yesterday.

More new buoys in the mid-atlantic. A straight line of them down to Brazil in south America. Humm...is this foresadowing?

- GPS info from the university of Nagoya, Japan becomes hard to read as the vertical deformation parameters of Restinga, Pinar and Frontera are near or over the extremities of the graph. We will ask Prof. Sagiya whether he can do something about this. We hope he can, as this deformation resource has always been very important.

- 3 earthquakes so far today. We know earthquake data only is quiet boring, but this is the only way to follow up this volcanic process. All 3 earthquakes occurred in a matter of 4 minutes and at the shallower depths.
- GPS deformations : We thank Dr. Sagiya for extending the vertical deformation scale to 12 cm compared to 10 cm a few days ago. We are however not sure about some recent data as we have still no x axis detailed time scale and as we have to feeling that nothing has changed the last couple of days. To avoid confusing people, we have taken screenshots today, which we will compare with data tomorrow.

- 3 more since our latest update. The 14:56 one being a relatively strong one at 11 km depth and close to Sabinosa (the shallower layer).

It would appear as though something really is going on with Grand Canary. Look at the frequency chart. Something huge was going on there for a minute

2 quakes in strange locations this morning. One just north of Tenerife and a fairly shallow 2.8 between Lanzarote/Fuerteventura

Uh Oh looks like the Canary Islands are starting to move again. Haven't seen one on EMSC in quiet a while.

Some really strange things going on around Grand Canary. Some of the other islands around registered a pretty good set of quakes but this is just one VERY LONG situation and it does NOT look like a computer error since so many islands registered it. This event was several hours long and then....ALL the seismographs just went offline at around 1500 hours UTC yesterday.
