Mitt Romney gave nearly 33% of his income to charity, after paying taxes, and only claimed a partial deduction.

In order to be a High Priest in the LDS faith (a position which Mitt Romney hold), one must certify that you pay 10% of your income in tithing, and one must answer questions about your morality. If you answer falsely and the church has knowledge that you lied, you will not get a temple recommend and may face excommunication. Mitt Romney has a valid LDS temple recommend.

Stocks are not paper currency and it now takes more us dollars to purchase the same share of a stock. Thus the value of the stock goes up.
