Anonymous Coward User ID: 23598650 United States 10/05/2012 12:38 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | 2 days and 4 hours trying to fix their problem on the phone and computer. I am done. Quoting: Socalmat 15092331 I bought something on ebay for $135 and it cleared. Moments later I tried to purchase a $3.75 item and it would not clear PAYPAL. WTF!? They said that I needed to link up my bank accounts again. How long have I been with them? I think ever since they started. What changed in less than 5 minutes that would require this? Something has changed with the ebay and paypal connections in the last month as well. A page is missing that allows you to select which payment method you want to use. Once your decision to cancel is made it is still not an easy task to complete. With the help of an operator at paypal, I found "My Settings" and started there, but there still was not any confirmation. So I called back and had the operator cancel everything out so that I can not even log on. Now I feel like I have accomplished something good for the day. A few years ago I lost $400 on a resolution that should have gone my way but because I could not talk to anyone but a drop down menu, I lost. If you are interested, PAYPAL's number is 888-221-1161. Thanks for listening. When Paypal started to streamline their checkout recently, I did not fall for it. I still have and use the old checkout process. Also, in the past I have had problems with Paypal holding money someone has given me, via Paypal, from my bank account. Or the bank may have dragged their feet putting it into my account, the result was that most of the money was used up paying for the domino of overdrafts as I use a designated account for Paypal/eBay and do not give them access to my real money. Ever since then, I have only used the credit card option and that way I also have the protection of the credit card and if I have a problem with a purchase, which I did once, I turned it over to my credit card company who dealt with it and bypassed eBay completely. Your lesson has validated my feelings that opting to use the new process would not be without its problems... |

Thank you 23598650. I understand the convenience of the banking system makes it difficult to stop using it. This is my first step to going back to the old ways of snail mail and telephones. |

PAYPAL is in bed with or owned by the BANKERS. It is just another way of connecting you to the MATRIX at the cost of the merchant. You must use a credit card if you want any protection at all in PAYPAL. I too have had issues with direct payments from my checking account. It left me with no protection or recourse. I believe you have more leverage and protection purchasing from individuals rather than through PAYPAL. Just make sure you have a phone number of the business before you purchase. If you can't get a hold of a company before you buy, you are never going to talk to them after your purchase. |
