You harassed him to no end, like a rabid dog, on his thread about moving to the U.S. to be with his true love. He was very kind and patient with you, which I thought amazing. People meet each other and fall in love on GLP, or dating sites, all the time, who dont live within driving distance from each other. When they feel the love and passion to actually do something about it, you should be happy for them. Everyone doesn't live in fear, expecting the worst to happen. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 19866620 United States 10/07/2012 09:08 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A few days ago, someone made a thread here about this naked couple on youtube that preach the bible without clothes on. I'm talking stark naked, both of them. Sitting there on a couch with all their junk hanging out, preaching the word of God. Quoting: Lisa*Lisa So, I clicked on it out of curiosity, watched a small portion of a video of theirs and was filled with indignation about it. I was MAD dammit, and I wanted to let them know it! It was now my job to let them know how disgusting they were acting and how wrong they were and how right I was. So, I did. I blasted them in the youtube comments. I felt justified in doing it too, because I was right and they were wrong. I had a "right" to blast them because they were "wrong" and I knew it! I was so right, the rightness was dripping off my keyboard. If I had been anymore right, my head would explode! That's how right I was! They were wrong and I knew it! I was on a mission for right, and they were the offenders! So, I had every right to blast them and say something about it and call them disgusting perverts because after all, I was right and they were wrong, and I knew it!!! Well.....over the last few days I came to realize with God's help that I was wrong too. Hurting someone else, with the self justification of "being right" is also very wrong. I've since apologized to the couple for my comments because I understand that it's between them and God and God will correct them if need be, but my job is to love them. God corrected me and my thinking. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 "Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends." ____________ Here's another true little story about being "right". It's about my aunt and 2 of her sons, my cousins. The 2 sons got into an argument with their mother years ago. Nobody remembers what the original argument was about, none of them even remember. Well, the 2 sons stopped speaking to their mother. They felt "right" and justified because of something that she either said or did, and then she also felt "right" and justified because they were mean to her in retaliation. Both sides were filled with "right" and "justification" and so neither side would budge. This went on for years. The amount of pain and suffering it caused was not even measurable, not even fathomable. It destroyed them, all of them, from the inside out. It was a cancer that ate them alive. In fact, one of the sons came down with cancer during that time. He recovered, atleast for now. Well, my aunt died last month. She passed away in her sleep, nobody expected it, especially not her 2 sons. There was now no more opportunity to be "right". No more opportunity to hold onto that offense, no more opportunity to be justified in your anger. It was over. Now, there was no opportunity to say I'm Sorry. _________________________________ Sometimes being right doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is showing love to the people that you are around, even if they are "wrong". 1 John 4:7 "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God." Maybe you're holding a grudge against someone for something. Maybe it's time now to let it go. I hope that sharing these 2 experiences with you helps you see what's truly important, and it ain't about being right. It's about being love. :loveclouds2: |

It's not easy to admit your faults in a public forum where you know hundreds of people will mock and ridicule. But, if it helps one person, then it's worth it. It's a learning experience and we should share our experiences, both positive and negative, with others because maybe it will help someone else overcome an obstacle in their own life. We are all on this journey called life together. |

It seems like our differing perceptions make us feel justified and vindicated in judging others, but just like you said - we are only supposed to love, not judge. I would imagine that most people have a similar experience to what you described, and it is only after we are reminded of how precious and fragile life is that we realize how petty we were being. Thank you for sharing :-) "Be still, and know that I am God." Psalm 46:10 Truth needs no validation because it is self-evident and undeniable. And never is it necessary that any influence be brought to bear upon the Father to call forth his loving-kindness. The creature’s need is wholly sufficient to insure the full flow of the Father’s tender mercies and his saving grace. Since God knows all about his children, it is easy for him to forgive. The better man understands his neighbor, the easier it will be to forgive him, even to love him. |

KoFFee_ User ID: 1373078 United States 10/07/2012 09:47 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A Good Sunday Morning to you, Lisa, Wonderful message! Love "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another" John 13:34 "But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you," Matthew 5:44 Forgiveness "For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins." Matthew 6:14-15 Our sinful human flesh wars against loving ALL and forgiving All when we feel we are the victims. It's not just a matter of displaying love and asking forgiveness because it's the right thing to do, but because we truly understand the hearts of people and their sinful condition and know, that we have been there ourselves. True love and forgiveness will hold no animosity after it has been given--it keeps no record of the wrongdoing. Jesus said “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me." One of my favorite stories about how difficult forgiveness can be, comes from Corrie Ten Boom: [link to www.youtube.com] God's Peace be with you :luv2: However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. Acts 20:24 "This man really is the Savior of the world!" John 4:42 Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him. So shall it be! Amen. I am the Alpha and the Omega, " says the Lord God, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty." Revelation 1:7 |
