The last part you wrote is the most telling of all. In Catholicism nuns are said to be wedded to Christ. IDK if they wear a ring or not.

But in this case with Obama, by wearing a ring that says, "There is no God but Allah," it means in his heart he is wedded to Allah more than his wife.

There is a picture of him, in your article link, of him wearing it with his close Pakistani male friend.
