My first girlfriend was from Iceland. I always regretted that she moved away before late junior high because she was wickedly smart and ultra mischievous/uninhibited/badass.

If she is an example of the country, then their move makes sense to me. She was the type of girl you wanted all over you, but never against you.

Smart, uninhibited and badass is what this world needs. Go Iceland and show the world this can be done!

Bernanke is awesome. The more money he prints, the more the USD inflates. Which means the US makes money in the expense of savers and lenders, who at the moment are primarily China and Japan. China and Japan have no way out of this cycle, because they need the USD to buy oil. Bernanke and Co. are geniuses.

The government could have just redirected the bailout to the clients, not the institutions in order to stave off systematic destruction. Immediate foreclosures should have been limited to only those who never should have qualified in the first place. Wash the mortgage foreclosure from their record and return to their previously and already poor credit rating instead of making it worse. Anyone during the bubble who eventually couldn't pay should still have been foreclosed on, but credit protected. Then very basic credit requirements and income levels should have been instituted for future loans to consumers.

Then the big banks should have been splintered into piece meal and sold off in the free market in a way that would not have allowed them to be clumped together anytime soon.

During this time, the Treasury could have taken over "the Fed" and finally regulate it and audit it.


Competition would have ran rampant ( good for consumers) and the new splintered banks would more than likely focus on investing into small business.

The Banksters are criminals looting America into the NWO.

If only Ireland had the balls to do the same...

All the western nations should follow Iceland's example and jail the bankers.

The parasite has infected most of the world.

You can't really compare US economy with Iceland's economy. US is a flagship of the world, like it or not, and Iceland is one of the tiniest fractions. It doesn't mean they can't do well but blindly use the same methods on scale of US is idiotic to say the least.

Bankers took the money and tried to stick the people with the bill. Talk to the banks.

Iceland's ENTIRE economy is as large as the sales of 40 large Walmart Super-Centers.
I wouldn't get too excited about this.

We had the opportunity to do this, but instead we wrote a check from our grandchildren and great grandchildren giving them more money to steal and flush down the toilet...

Ireland has been so close to this, but the politicians have always run backwards at the threats from the Eurozone and the IMF, despite the prodding from the citizenry to move in the other direction...

We're basically being held prisoner by a corrupt government. We can't do anything.

The USA had the opportunity to do the same...let the gambling banksters

fail... and arrest the criminals.

By electing RON PAUL president, then auditing the Federal Reserve...

demonstrating the rampant corruption of the banksters...

we could soon be on the path to sustainable growth and prosperity

Instead...the American public has been quaffing their allocation of

brew, eyes glued incessantly to sporting events of all kinds, and

contemplating the lint in their navels.


So now we will be facing a " Perfect Storm of Ugly "... with a rapidly

devaluing currency, disappearing jobs, and a ramped up police state.
