Ranger XRay (OP) User ID: 11002976 United States 10/13/2012 11:29 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Thank you both for replying! Things are so serious and coming to a head that the time for comical and cynical comments are old and over. It is no longer a question of IF this thing will kick off, but rather WHEN. How we deal with it is most important, hence the need for preparedness. I would prefer to see an outright peaceful resolution to all of this, but I reckon it is inevitable how the fight is about to come and be waged, for God's sake, everything we know and love is about to change in a way that we never thought would be possible. I want to see peace come, but logically I must also be ready for war and how it will be waged because it will be non-linear and unconventional. I would rather not be caught on the sidelines unawares. The NK's motivations to what is currently happening in the world shall be most interesting. Will they initiate by surprise or wait? As far as I'm concerned, there are too many moving parts here. Too many variables that all equal out to a rather unpleasant outcome. Thor's Hamster User ID: 1248699 United States 10/13/2012 11:57 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | LOL! Thor's Hamster. Seriously though, at some point the saber rattling will either stop or become real. Just a month ago the DPRK had a coup issue within the flag officer ranks that got a General and his staff/guards sanctioned. Kim Jon Un's uncle Choe-Thae Bok-Supreme People's Assembly ensured that his nephew's back was covered. That man's power is subtle and deep. I'm willing to bet that general was planning a coup d'etat or was viewed as an internal threat and that Kim's uncle did not want to see the power structure rattled. Quoting: Ranger XRay Yes. The North often saber rattles, but this time it seems the South is taking it more seriously (ex: South Korea now is developing missiles that can hit anywhere in the North). I have a feeling that if war breaks out in the middle east, countries in other parts of the world will take advantage of that to settle old, festering scores with their enemies (ex: India/Pakistan; North/South Korea; etc.). Apollo astronauts couldn't have passed through Van Allen's Belt. Van Allen wore suspenders. |
Ranger XRay (OP) User ID: 11002976 United States 10/14/2012 12:15 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Makes perfectly good sense unfortunately. It'll be an all or nothing scenario played out right to the bitter end. Pakistan and India will be a bloody nightmare. Gangnam style bitches User ID: 22899606 United States 10/14/2012 12:34 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Just fucking do it already so we can get on to the grand finale. I'm sick of trying to figure out which country is going to shoot their load first. Either do it or don't, but don't leave us all waiting for some big event that never happens. This is the problem with the world today, nobody has the balls to stand up for shit anymore because they know that it will suck for a while and they are not sure if it will get better afterwards. Could one of these stupid countries just go ahead and fucking do it so we can all get to Act III of this fatalistic tragedy. We already know what happens in the end if we have ever read a book. "Good" guys win, "Bad" guys lose, some people cry, others rejoice, bankers get rich either way, poor stay poor or die off, and the show goes on. Fuck all you saber rattling wimps, grow a pair and do this shit Gangnam style. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 18167758 Australia 10/14/2012 12:53 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A few scenarios could set it off really.. Miscalculation in Syria right now could do it. Turkey might actually end up at war with Syria soon. That is extremely possible. Another one is Israel & Iran. One incident in the Persian Gulf could set that off. US & UK could get involved. China & Japan are infamously stubborn, both countries put war before losing pride. Panetta confirmed this recently. India and Pakistan is always a powderkeg waiting to blow. When Islamists seize power in Islamabad, India will play hardball. As for Korea, give it till June 25 in 2013. 70th anniversary of the end of the Korean War. |

OP, a democrat president has been responsible for: -- US entry into WWI -- US entry into WWII -- dropping nukes on Japan -- US entry into the Korean War -- US entry into the Vietnam War NK is patient, and also knows American history. North Korea will WAIT for Obama to lose the election before they start a war -- simply because they know that any American Democrat President will start a fucking war if given the chance ... just to turn the public's attention off the Democrat's shitty economic policies. . |

Exactly there seems to be only a few people who actually look at the bigger picture hear and you bought up a good point that I didn't and that was waste handling I.E bodies and the shear thought of a Nuclear war turns my skin its sad to say that the lucky ones wouldn't have survived in my opinion the only way this current world state could ever sort it self out would be war as it would lead to a clean slate in societies across the globe as there would be no governments left to help us all kill ourselves,as at this moment we are unable to look at a future without the need for I.O.U's money ( seriously read a bank note its a promise to pay ) there is more debt in this world then what there is actual money which is another weird statement about our current climate. I hope War never comes about but as the O.P stated and I agree its always best to be prepared for the worst. Always expect the unexpected and beware of nasty things pretending to be nice. |
