Quoting: Wash The 2nd thing I noticed was the crazy incrases we have had in prices. 1 can Campbells Vegetable soup was listed as $0.89 We now pay $2.19 for the same can. Fresh Haddock Fillets were $3.99lb. Now $7.99lb. 4 litres of Skim Milk was $4.59...now $7.59. 1 loaf of whole wheat bread was $.99...now $2.99. Fresh Green Pepper was $1.99lb...now $3.99lb. Canned tomato juice was $0.99 a can...now $2.29 a can. Obviously there was waaaaay more on the recipt, but I just can't believe the inflation. I'm sure many people have had to stop buying items the are used to buying, and change their life styles a great deal. I have not gotten to that point yet, but I'm feeling the pinch. It sucks. Changes are needed. You need to take a pic of the receipt, go buy the same products, take another pic, and put the pics all over the place. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 25524793 For this go to your local meat market and ask the butcher to get you the size and cut you need. It's sometimes cheaper this way (you often pay for packaging and shipping)and if you do this often enough maybe they'll give you an idea of when meat that you want will be on sale. Besides, you can never have enough friends. LEARN HOW TO BE KIND OR BE LEFT BEHIND. OXOXO |

Has your income doubled to match? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 8258047 No ..in fact the companies I have worked for only allow a max of a 4 percent raise..as you are graded on your performance..and noone gets the 4 percent or over..unless you are maybe brand new or really underpaid. They find ways to keep you from getting the 4 %..CAUSE thats just too much..LOL |

Its close to double across the board on everything over the last 4 years. Quoting: Dr. Pickle 12313542 I occasionally buy chicken wings. They have doubled in the last 3 years. Chicken thighs which i highly recommend as a delicious and cheap cut of chicken, are even starting to go up. I switched from breasts and/or legs to thighs because they taste good, are dark meat like my husband and daughter prefer, (instead of white meat / breast) and they are still very cheap -- somtimes I can get them on sale at Kroger for $.99 a pound. BTW, Kroger currently has Ground Angus at $3.49 a pound in the Fort Worth Area... come and get it while its still cheap... |

The internationally owned, private, unaudited, gang of thieves tripled the money supply so that the banks could pay their bills. In actuality, the banks paid their bills by you and me paying higher prices for the same goods and services. |

You know, eat out less, no slave loans or credit etc. This will help you in many ways. Good Luck and God's Speed |

I recall a time when veggies about to expire were super cheap and one could freeze them or use them that day. Same with fruits one could make a quick preserve from them and or freeze them as well. in the past few years it seems , with little hyperbole , the fucking fruits and vegetables are good for the compost pile before you even get them home from the store. they have shit for a shelf life , even with proper food handling/storage habits |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 999119 Canada 10/15/2012 02:49 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Thanks for the double bump. MacIntosh Apples (3lb bag) $2.99...now $4.99. Here in Nova Scotia we had an excellant apple growing year. One of the best they ever had. So you tell me why I'm paying $2.00 more per 3lb bag of apples? Horrible overall apple season. They mark up the price to reflect offer/demand, so you can extrapolate that nova scotia apple growers are making a killing this year. So are some in Quebec. If you go pick em up yourself usually the price isn't that much higher, because of the kids and all. |
