Really? Hundred of thousands of ballots? According to this story, the total number of ballots sent out from critical states like Florida and Virginia to make a difference in the election even if they ALL voted for Romney and ALL the ballots were lost! lol [link to www.humanevents.com] And if you're gonna say it would have brought a victory for Romney, you would have to know what states the ballots were from and who they voted for, right? This story is all based on the same exact report that has circulated on various small sites on the internet. Try googling Rear Admiral John Dawes, the supposed source quoted in the story. The only place you will find that Admiral's name is in the various re-runs of the same story. This is just a bullshit urban myth. Don't be so gullible. |

First of all, nobody military or familiar with the Middle East calls that body of water the "Persian Gulf". It's the Arabian Gulf. Secondly, the USS Kearsarge has not been in the Gulf since May of 2011, when she returned to port in Norfolk. |

I was in the navy for 8 years, and everyone I met or talked to called it the Persian gulf or just the gulf. And Bahrain is a POS port of call. Just saying. EDIT: Not saying story is true or false, just the one point on your comment. Last Edited by Saucy Jack on 11/08/2012 08:53 AM Yeah, you are not gonna agree with me on a lot. They are citizens serving to protect the American people. Quoting: Saratonin We OWE it to them to count them! Ridiculous! Time for Seven Days in May movie... What I wonder is why Romney conceded, so early, and even suspecting there were problems with the military vote which would go in his favor. 4 years ago, McCain conceded rather early too, but not as bad as this. I think they were told to concede. |

That's OK, but maybe things have changed since you were in. It's Arabian Gulf to us now, and for obvious reasons. Anyway, doesn't change the fact that this story is poorly done bullshit. They could have at least used the name of a real admiral, and referred to a ship that was actually in the Gulf! |

Very true points about the article. The sad thing is, when I was in the Navy, I NEVER got my absentee ballot on time to vote. Then again, I was registered in my home state of New York. Why would they want a military person to have a say in their home state? I agree that the story was poorly done. The fact that it is a "faux news and humor" site (as listed in its about page) means that this article was directed to cause a lot of pain to those in uniform (and those who care about them) that specifically do not support O'crap-head. The fact that they focused on the supporters of Rotney, to crank up the anger doesn't say much for the site, in my eyes. Yeah, you are not gonna agree with me on a lot. Figured that out a long time ago. |

This is royally fucked up if true!!!! I really hope the military makes a move to correct this. I mean seriously, what could a bunch of democrats do to stand against the entire US Military? |

Read the story and my earlier post. 1. There were not enough absentee ballots shipped out. Even if ALL of them voted Romney and ALL of them were lost, it would not have made a difference. 2. There is no "Read Admiral John Dawes", the source quoted in the story. Try googling the name yourself. 3. The USS Kearsarge was not in the Gulf. But here is the best one, quoted from the referenced story: Its a shame, Rear Admiral John Dawes said when asked for comment. I expected a delay so I ordered that everyone cast their votes eight months ago. So the admiral ordered everyone to cast their votes eight months ago? How could they do that? The Democrat and Repubican conventions were only three months ago, so there were no ballots eight months ago! This is a joke, right??? |

Obama had already won 5 of six swing states and there WAS NEVER A PATH TO VICTORY FOR ROMNEY AFTER 10:00, he did not concede early, he did not even write a fucking concession speech until that night because his delusional Faux news crowd actually had him believing he could win. |
