McDonald's Sales Crumble All Around The World!!! | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 957572 United States 11/08/2012 09:21 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I always thought McDonalds had a bad buisness model. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1779676 When you think of unhealthy fast food, McDonalds is ALWAYS the biggest and first to come to mind. Been that way for 25 years or so. So burger king isn't as bad in the public eye, generally less older people eating at McDonalds and people waking up and trying to be healthier among other things drives their sales down. a friend of mine manages one right off I-95 in holly'weird' fl and he told me that there is ALWAYS somebody at the drive thru window 24/7 so that doesn't sound like 'sales are crumbling' to me... McDonalds is food for the poor and God knows there are enough poor people in this country. At $5 a meal, I find that hard to believe. That they are poor. That's $10 a day for just two meals. I can find something at home to whip up to feed 2 people a day for that money. If it involves pasta or rice, I can feed more than that. I hear everyday about people who spend about $700 a month on food from eating out everyday. That's crazy! What's even more crazy is they then complain about being broke. Well, learn to cook dammit! You can cut that food bill in half. Yo dude maff time , the 700 pays the owner, employee and food costs and buys other shit until it is taxed out of existence. So that 700 is about 14000 dollars worth of labor units . When your economy has a huge slice of mcwage mcshit jobs , every 700 dollars counts. |

Quoting: thetrickybigguy When a fami.y of four spend $50 bucks at McDonalds it is no longer affordable for the poor. No doubt that EBT cards will soon be able to be used there. EBT Cards are used there. Also at Burger king and other Fast Food joints. Seen a sign in one on Monday that said EBT cards accepted here. Truly a waste of tax payer money. If your going to give them free food, it should be regular food from a grocery store and no snacks, booz, cigs or crap like that. It sucks when middle class families have less in their grocery cart than the free loader on the Government dole. |

A company thatis getting ready to go into bankruptcy or wanting to do an entirely new make-over, willdo things to lower sales; they die, then re-bloom with a brand, new un-recognizable face, and new name, often in the dust of the old business. I suspect this is the reason McDonalds wants to disappear: [link to www.youtube.com] McDonalds will have to come back as a parking lot or a family, hamburger/beer joint etc. In other words an establishment that will have to have parents accompanying the children. McDonalds has the best meat of all the burger joints, thus,I feel McDonalds has too much invested in too many ranches in the Rain forests to giveup meat sandwiches. |

Their food and service sucks...that's probably part of the problem... Also, the cost of beef is going back up fast, and that means even the cost of the shitty beef from old dairy cows that McDonalds uses has to be hitting their bottom line and forcing them to raise their prices... McDonalds is food for the poor and God knows there are enough poor people in this country. Poor people in the U.S. You should get out and see the world. As an American, I had no idea what poverty was until I went to countries that are actually poor. Try spending time in a place like Laos and you'll have your definition of "poor people" redefined for you in a hurry. The average worker's salary in Laos is less than $1/day (which is common in many countries in the world), so many people there try to harvest the metal from the millions of bombs dropped on the country during the Vietnam War (Laos is the most heavily-bombed country in history), even though they know there's a good chance the bomb they're trying to get the metal from is UXO (unexploded ordnance) and could well blow up in their faces. Now THAT my friend is poverty. |

I've been in line n the drive through then think to myself... I dont want to become that. So I just leave the drive through line go hone and cook my own meal. I'm have been dying for some mcdonalds but its been about month since I had some and I lost a lot of weight and the urges are going down. It isn't too hard to drive by now without stopping for a quick bite since I'm happier at a more healthy weight. |

The fact is that in an economic depression such as this, the middle and upper middle class will start to eat fast food a little more than previously, in replacement of meals they used to get at nicer restaurants. I'll bet their customer counts are either flat or up. |

Whenever a business asks me to make a donation at the checkout counter I stop going there. I brew my own coffee and put it in a thermos instead of a large double double from McD's every morning. That saves me $50 per month! |

They even sponsor some hispanic pride student thing and blerb about it on t.v. I stopped going there at all, when I found out what was (and wasn't) in the mcnuggets, and also because the smell from the drive-thru window was always rank, no matter which one we went to. Grands used to like a mcnugget happy meal as a treat now and then. No more.
