Quoting: John Connor 15575255 So as long as it is reasonably good sounding, and pretty loud I would be happy. I currently have a Fender 10w amp and it does the job but nearly buggered. So looking for something a little bit louder, with decent sound. 20w amps are no more expensive. Go Vox or Orange and try get valves/tubes. However if you can find a Gallien Krueger guitar amp from the 1980's or a Roland JC120 buy one of those. My opinion is get anything based on traditional circuits not modern digital repos by those makes. |

Quoting: John Connor 15575255 Just to run a mp3 player. Something decent sounding, decent quality. And cheap. Why would you use a guitar amp to run an MP3 player? And it wouldn't be in stereo. Get a cheap receiver from Radio Shack for $100 bucks (or even less) and a couple of small speakers. |

There will always be players much better, much faster and more technically orientated than you, im not saying give up learning technical ability, but it took me a long time to realize what actually matters most is FUN and making UNIQUE sounds. Its nice to imitate your favorite musicians to do covers and stuff, but what mattered to me when i started writing my own shit was making interesting sounds. Dont get caught in the effects trap either, you dont really need more than 6 pedals. Start tuning that shit in weird ways, start using a slide with effects, start playing weird rhythms, start playing an amp that makes a tone nobody has heard a million times. It will make you happier and not get you caught in the musicians trap of being crushed by to much gear you dont need. |

Can throw it in the boot of a car and not worry. Already in a box. But will look into your suggestion. cheers |

You could get two of them and a Y cable and have your output in true stereo, but also be battery powered if you need it. |

cochise123 User ID: 19526335 Canada 11/09/2012 05:48 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You don't want a guitar amp as an mp3 player. Go on craigslist and get one of those old console stereos from the 70's. They are tube amps and kick ass. I play guitar (since '81) and run a floor pod through one as a big warm sounding practice amp. They have external inputs and sound amazing. Most of the time people are giving these old beasts away. |
