DFW,TX gas stations SHORT ON GAS?!?
So as my husband was driving into work this morning he had to call to tell me that several gas stations he drives past on his way in have signs up indicating that they are short on gas.

ANYONE else seeing this?

I am trying to get him to snap me a pic on his phone. I will post it if I can.

Re: DFW,TX gas stations SHORT ON GAS?!?
He originally thought that gas prices woudl go down due to O wanting to get re-elected, but his new theory is (especially now that O has been re-elected again)...

That O will cause a shortfall on critical / necessary items. On purpose.

LW always said that the name of the game is control.

That would be one way to force control (martial law) on the people withouth much fuss. Building up to it slowly?

Thought I read last week that a few tankers were diverted from the gulf over to New York harbor to deliver gas to Sandy victims. If so, would probably be a temporary shortage.

Don't know, just speculating.

I drove through one suburb of Dallas and then into Dallas and not one gas station was showing a shortage. Plenty of people getting gas, nothing out of the ordinary.

I personally did not see any (signs) either, but I don't pass many gas stations on my route.

I'm in Dallas and not only is gas plentiful, the price has fallen at least a dime since the election. I paid $3.04 yesterday.

Husband says it was a gas station near our house.

They were out of everything except 'regular' unleaded. He's is looking for more signs now.

Don't blame me, I didn't pin it.

And yes, I did -- because I wanted to know if others in my area were seeing the same thing.

I'm headed out in a few minutes, will check my station 1/2 a mile from the street

however, I filled up last night at $3.12 over on Greenville Ave, didn't notice anything unusual

In Chicago, IL we do not have PLUS or PREMIUM available at the gas stations for the past week..

Mostly at BP/Marathon/Meijer/Costco, they said it was due to some tainted premium/plus gasoline at a refinery.

but no gas doom here in uptown Dallas

just topped my tank at the 7/11 Exxon at Oaklawn and Maple, no shortage, no closed pumps. Price $3.12/gallon

Also, OPEC, NOT OBAMA, set gas prices, so you and your husband are officially idiotic doom-mongers.

OPEC sets oil prices, not gas prices. EPA policies have a very significant and undeniable impact on gas prices.

West Texas Intermediate crude price is set at the NYMEX, as opposed to Brent

There is a complex relationship between the price of Brent (european) crude and WTI

It is nowhere as easy as saying that Opec sets the prices...never mind the impact of shuttered refineries

What is Brent crude and why is its price so much higher than “regular” crude oil?

what i find really odd about this gas situation is that with all these shortages going on prices have dropped at my local station.

maybe it's an isolated incedent, idk.

probably should have mentioned that i am in NC.
