Inexpensive solar cells were created from rust and water
In the Nature Photonics magazine appeared an article of a group of chemists from the Federal Polytechnic School in LaUSAnne, Switzerland, under the direction of Kevin Sivula, that were created by solar cells from rust (Fe2O3) and water with record efficiency, which allow to save up to 16% of the energy of Sunlight. According to Kevin Sivula, a square meter of new solar panels cost only $ 80, this is mainly the cost of glass plates, on which are located the components of the solar cells...

Re: Inexpensive solar cells were created from rust and water
The guy says it only converts 1.2 % of the energy in the sunlight, not 16 %.

1.2 % is too little to be worthwhile...

Saving up and converting are different things.

What are you on about? The guy in the video specifically stated the efficiency is modest, as the device only converts 1.2 of the energy in sunlight.

It's interesting tech alright, but not a world-changer.
