What Does It Mean that Residents in All 50 States Have Filed Petitions to Secede?
Secession: Exploding Movement, Tempest In a Teapot … Or Something Else?

A lot of attention is being given to the fact that residents in all 50 states have filed petitions to secede from the United States.

Daily Caller reports:

By 6:00 a.m. EST Wednesday, more than 675,000 digital signatures appeared on 69 separate secession petitions covering all 50 states, according to a Daily Caller analysis of requests lodged with the White House’s “We the People” online petition system.

Petitions from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, North Carolina, Tennessee and Texas residents have accrued at least 25,000 signatures, the number the Obama administration says it will reward with a staff review of online proposals. The Texas petition leads all others by a wide margin.

It means nothing because the state legislatures will blow them off...even if they get double the required signatures.

Exactly.... the public has no say in this inverted totalitarian state. If the public were informed, and aware, if we had not been dumbed down for 90 years. If we coould critically think and reason, if we could filter information, if we were not complacent and lazy, entitled and spoiled, if there were a glimpse of self reliance in anyone under the age of 40 then perhaps it would mean something, But it doesnt.

Reminds me of boot camp, so sleep deprived, on edge, and the Company Commander says: "everyone who would like to take a nap take one step forward."

Re: What Does It Mean that Residents in All 50 States Have Filed Petitions to Secede?
It means that there are lots of people in all 50 states that do not understand what the definition of state sovreignty is. If you completely bypass your own state legislature which is the mechanism for state sovreignty and instead appeal to the one man in charge of the executive branch of the federal government like he is some kind of king to plead for your freedom, then you just don't understand the whole reason why states should or could secede in the first place.

I support the ability of states to secede, but anyone putting their name and contact info on whitehouse.gov is just begging to be put on a DHS watch list.
"God forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, & always, well informed... If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty... Let them take arms... What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. " - Thomas Jefferson in 1787

It means there are people in all 50 states who have told Obama directly that they hate him.
Obama's response will be an IRS audit for all those idiots.
Secession comes out of state legislatures, not by a petition on the White House website.

But as the crisis mood congeals people will come to the jarring realization that they have grown helplessly dependent on a teetering edifice of anonymous transactions and paper garuntees. Many americans wont know where their savings are, who their employer is , what their pension is, or how their government works. The era will have left the financial world arbitraged and tentacled; Debtors wont know who owns their mortgages, and shareholders who runs their equities and vise versa. Strauss & Howe 1997
