You Can Not have any semi-auto larger than a .22. HOW are we to defend ourselves with those pee guns. Had a mossberg shotgun but the cops confiscated it, Branshing a weapon charge. Have Crossbow. Need a Glock 17, and what about that 500 cal smith and wesson. ......................... |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 22161124 I wish I could buy a couple of GUNS, but I'm too broke right now. I guess I'll have to just take them from the Dead People when the KAOS Starts. ................. ................... ...................... Glad i dont live in usa with all those guns around. Here in aus guns are pretty rare in the suburbs (only farmers are meant to have them etc). So looks like my bow and arrow will be a distinct advanatge (any projectile weapon is better than going hand to hand). Got about 4 bows now. Good thing also is arrows can be made out of wood/feathers. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 13813766 Australia 11/17/2012 04:02 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm not fond of guns - they make me nervous =) Quoting: amywood71605 But, I'm with you OP. Over the last year-ish I've been trying to work on preparing - canned foods, toilet paper, diapers and wipes, water, OTC meds like Tylenol, cold/flu meds, etc, food for my pets, stashing some cash away, but a gun was not something I really thought about, but now I am. If SHTF badly - I want to be able to protect my family - and protect our stuff from theives who weren't so prepared. I'll leave shooting it to hubby though, haha unless I have to of course. Serious question - what would anyone recommend for us?? Neither of us hunt, so don't have much experience with guns. I'd like something that can protect us, and something that we can use to hunt should that be necessary. Suggestions welcome - I'm totally seriously thinking about buying one. Money doesn't matter too much - I'll spend to have something good, but at the same time do not want to spend a ridiculously high amount either..... I recommend something that is EASY to clean, Works FLAWLESSLY and does no require much training.... Which is a: Handgun: REVOLVER (Self Defense) Long gun: BOLT ACTION RIFLE (Hunting / Self Defense) Defense gun: PUMP ACTION SHOTGUN (Self Defense / Hunting) All of which can be picked up at your local Big-5 or gun store. The reason is that I recommend this combo is that you indicated "Neither of us hunt, so don't have much experience with guns." Many semi-autos require quite a bit of training to use Effectively. They can jam, develop feed problems, or simply fail you when the time has come, and without training , it will be hard for you to over-come that failure. In addition, the above listed guns usually come in a very popular caliber, which makes it easier to obtain ammo when ammo is in short supply. I can go on and on... If you want more info, PM me. I suggested on another thread almost same as you. revolver as they dont jam.A 12 guage but I like baikal with short barrels and exposed hammers.easy to reload and safer with exposed hammers.and i like the ww2 vietnam era .30 calM1 |
