polish army had indeed achived its after wwII power peak in seventies. It's outdated, has too much officers compared to regular soldiers. BUT, is russian army much better? Haven't your soldiers quite army due to not being paid, what about wave, what about muslims in army, did your non-rocket forces received much financing? What about your south and east border, can you afford to sacrifice much of your forces to west front?

thanks for the answer. It is true Russian army has a lot of problems. These days Putin fired Defense minister along with his 3 aides. That is may be the best change yet, because Serdyukov was quite incapable of managing the army. Still, Russian army showed it is well trained and could achieve victory in a regional war in Georgia. SOmething that after the collapse of USSR many questioned. "Russia can make a world war but cannot win a small war". Now it is known the opposite is true. Notice that the best weapons were not used in Georgia, rather "outdated" Su-25 that had to escape the S-300 that Ukraine sold to Georgia. Several planes were shot down. Nevertheless, it was a matter of days to achieve a total victory.

As far as the drills go, there are several annual drills covering all major fronts, including the South (Caucasus) and the West (Belarus, Baltic). Each of them include may be more troops than those used in Georgia. the Western media do not usually cover that, but you could search Ria or RT.

I don't know why should Russia and Poland be enemies in first place. The anti-Russian sentiments are hi in Poland, thanks to history. The rest is politics. I hope there isn't yet another European war. But it depends on all sides.
