Fix the Debt campaign CEOs have said they would trade in their upper-income Bush tax cuts for a territorial system. But this shouldn't be surprising because "if their companies save billions in tax dollars, corporate profits will soar – and CEO pay will skyrocket too," more than offsetting the increase in their personal income taxes. |

This probably in part because the rich know how to avoid taxes and are quite willing to pull their funds out of high tax countries. [link to www.forbes.com] [link to blogs-images.forbes.com] I make no judgment about the character or worthiness of the rich to receive their wealth. In fact one quote I've heard is, "you can tell what God thinks about the rich by looking at who He has entrusted wealth to.". Nevertheless, the cognitive dissonance any statist must face is the fact that in order to increase government coffers, so that you can squander taxes on government programs, requires the unpleasant policy of letting the rich 'keep' their money. One way to think of it, is to ask yourself, what is a tax rate that you are willing to pay without giving much of a second thought to how you do your business? A good example of this is a bridge toll. If that toll was $100, would you find another route? You probably would and the rich do the same with where their wealth is deposited. If the toll is only 50 cents you wouldn't think twice about crossing the bridge, and in fact the bridge collects more money in that scenario. Quoting: mrmuffins69 Wether you like it or not, this has been the status quo throughout history. The rules of wealth creation will change as the systems do aka 'socialism' or 'communism' but it never stops. Different levels of 'bribery' now more formally called 'lobbying' is simply enacted. In other words - these rich CEO's are able to survive in this current system - while you are not. Any system that tried to deviate from the Pareto Principle has been met with failure, poverty, defeat, and misery. The most damaging thing that could happen is these CEO have to pay their taxes and as a result pull out of the United States Entirely. The real issue you should be fighting for is LESS government services and LESS taxes. Fight for your freedom to live as the CEO's do, then go out there and compete. Don't attack the CEO's because their better at this than you are. |

I as a tax payer have been stuck with the bill to bail out a bunch of corporations like AIG. do I see any profit from that? no. the elite keep all the profits and put all the losses on us. That is why they will be drug out into the street and torn to pieces by furious legions of homeless starving desperate people in the months to come. |

If they make money in Framce, they have to pay France taxes on it. Then when the money's shipped back to the US, they have to pay taxes on it again. Most countries don't do this to companies, which is why many companies are leaving the US. They are taking their headquarters and all the jobs and spending that goes with it, and moving to places that don't demand double taxation. Your desire to punish companies is harming America. |
