if company was incoporated in usa then they wont have to pay taxes on profits generated from overseas, in my opinion it doesnt even matter anymore do half of them even pay the required tax rate? some of the big companies dont even pay any taxes. they call it Fix the Debt.

That's PURE BULLSHIT PROPAGANDA. naughty

They still have to pay the taxes from the country where the profits were generated....and many UK countries have STEEP taxes.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7702124

Many US companies based in low corporate tax countries (such as Ireland) only have to pay 12.5% corporation taxes. BTW...EU want to harmonize this to 20%+
All that is required for a foreign based company to avail of this rate is a brass plate on a wall & be registered with an Tax commissioners, they then can route profits via this brass plate company and only pay 12.5% tax.
It's no wonder Obama wants to end this practice whereby US companies take advantage of favorable corporate tax rates in other countries or as he put it 'Tax heavens' but not have any 'real' operations in that tax heaven country.

Why do you even care? Do you think more money going to the federal government is going to help you in some way? Do you actually believe it is going to help ANYONE on the entire planet?

Because if you do, you're fucking deluded.

How is it Free Market Capitalism in this country when the large Multi National Corporations and Banks are able to buy our government to do their bidding in order to go through loopholes and not pay taxes, while the small and medium sized business's have no such luxury?

Furthermore, where would places like Walmart go anyways when American's are their biggest customer?

How is it Free Market Capitalism when The Multi national Banks and Corps have all their cronies inside Washington as politicians like Goldman Sachs and others outside as lobbyists, while the small business guy has to suffer it alone that employ the majority of American's?

The Fix the Debt campaign has raised $60 million and recruited more than 80 CEOs of America's most powerful corporations to lobby for a debt deal that would reduce corporate taxes and shift costs onto the poor and elderly.
 Quoting: mrmuffins69

Indeed!

And did you know that currently $20 Billion MORE is spent in direct subsidies and tax breaks to U.S. Corporations then is spent on aid to families, food, house, financial aid, and all direct public assistance (not including Medicare and Social Security).

These CEOs, these corporations are the leaches of our society!!!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 3910757

WITHOUT THOSE LEACHES... YOU AND YOUR WHOLE FAMILY WOULD STARVE TO DEATH OR DIE FROM THE ELEMENTS. Take a look at history before the industrial revolution.. We have it so much better than they did BECAUSE of the people that you considder leaches.

Here's a plan. In addition to any and all current taxes they are charged a FEE equal to 10% of gross International Sales in order to sustain the infrastructure of the US which they make use of period!

Yes, because paying the Federal government is the absolute highest priority of every American.

You can't discuss reducing how much they spend. You can only discuss who is going to pay for it.

And I lost a business, and six people lost their jobs because of the IRS and a mere $24,000 we didn't know we owed them, and they KNEW it was because of a crooked attorney, who disappeared, and a bad accountant, who died.

The government still stuck to their guns about getting their (paltry) money, no matter that we weren't at fault and paid taxes for 12 years without fail, on time. We just had no idea of knowing we weren't paying "enough", and the IRS PROVED it, for themselves, we weren't at fault. They still demanded their $24,000!

Where was OUR bailout to keep all of US working? They didn't owe it to us, but if they're bailing out and giving breaks for multi-billions of dollars to people that already have more than they need, why not keep the economy moving and help the small businesses they *SAY* are the backbone of America?

Because of the job situation, several of us had to go on state aid for medical help because we lost our insurance and needed, required, serious medical care (which would have been paid for by OUR insurance). So the government ends up shelling out even more than what we owed.

I will NEVER trust ANY politician, on any *side*, that spews the lie that they support small business "because they're the backbone of our country". Liars with suits and briefcases, tucked squarely into the pockets of the uber-wealthy that paid for them to be put in office.

People are too dense to understand that corporations DON'T pay taxes...They are a cost of doing business ADDED to the goods or services that they produce!

The more you tax them, the higher YOUR costs are going to be.

Tax them out of competitiveness and you get MORE, not less imports...

Corporate tax breaks and cuts must be tied to requirements to hire more US citizens....no more lying to Immigration to get H-1B visas (there ARE Americans that can do those jobs!) or illegal aliens (same thing---teenagers, retired people etc are often able to take lower paying jobs OR hire people with legal temporary work visas such as migrant workers get)
