[link to www.egyptindependent.com] In the constitutional declaration, Morsy decreed that judiciary does not have the right to dissolve the Constituent Assembly or the Shura Council, nor does it have the right to veto, annul or otherwise amend any law, declaration or decree issued by Morsy from the time he took office until the new constitution is ratified and a new People's Assembly has been elected into office. So they're going to have a hissy fit because he took away their power. Too bad. Egypt is now a democracy and judges will no longer arbitrarily rule as they see fit and they'll have to live with a ratified constitution and elected People's Assembly, just like every other Egyptian. |

No! Quoting: AWFEKKIT No, no, no! This is what he has done: 1.) Putting the former regime members, etc., back on trial for killing protesters - they were all miraculously found innocent before. 2.) All laws, decrees, etc., since he was elected will stand until there is a new parliament/constitution to change them. 3.) Appoint a new public prosecutor (see #1). 4.) Extended the time to draft the new constitution by two months. 5.) Took away the power of the judiciary to dissolve the Constituent Assembly and the Shura Council. 6.) Gave himself the power to protect the revolution and the country. Remember, there is no constitution and there is no Parliament at the moment, thus he didn't really have Presidential powers. This is not about making himself a dictator at all. It's about moving the country forward and assuring justice will be served. |

This is not about making himself a dictator at all. It's about moving the country forward and assuring justice will be served. I think it is reasonable to protect people's votes. The hi court commanded the first ever democratically elected assembly disband for unknown doubtful reasons, months after it was elected. Notice that the court is appointed by Mubarak regime. No big punishment for those who killed 600 people on the streets either. WHat changed in Egypt so far? . So why Morsi is bad? Because he wants justice for Egypt afte rdecades of totalitarian rule. With disbanded new parliament, Morsi is the oonly figure that is ELECTED by t he people of Egypt. Good he sacked the chief of staff, whatever the name, who almost hijacked the revolution if you remember. Now we have a battle between the highly popular Morsi (inside and abroad) and the highly unpopular structures inherited from Mubarak regime, who will spend no effort to bring the old regime back even without Mubarak. In fact Morsi is too weak, he must be stronger if he wants to survive, and to present Egyptian people. And for Mideast Israel - Morsi has just made the impossible - a ceasefire what could be the worst war recently with possibilities to inflame the whole region and even the world if becoming non-conventional. Morsi is the hero of the day. Let he sweep his country too. |

"God" is a joke. the ones spewing their "God" propaganda are a joke. they are just selfish delusional liars to whom not even the gods are sacred, as you can see from how they use them. |
