Re: Man charged for producing household electricity
By intruducing a source of power within a building, you have in effect by-passed all of the protection devices like fuses and trips. So, if something were to go wrong one would expect a fuse or trip to activate and 'safe' the circuit, but if the source of the power is within the circuit itself the trip would not have any effect and the fault would be fed more and more power until the source is overloaded or the fault is removed. The 'fault' may be someone getting a shock or a faulty appliance that may catch fire.

Now that's funny, eccentric john hutchinson did that for many years and no one complained about his gizmos burnin down the house
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 18237036

Actually, Hutchinson had his equipment confiscated by the cops up here for exactly the same reasons. Don't try and run a lab in an apartment building. If you want to play mad scientist you need to be isolated enough that when you open that portal the neighbors don't get hurt.

Excuse me but where in this article does it say he had anything "hooked" up to anything else?
It says
"The Crown's position is that he had this man-made assembly in his house suspended from the ceiling by thin ropes.

"There was a car battery and cans of petrol nearby."

Man made assembly (Free energy derived from magnets, ect)

This dude could have made the same device so many OTHERS have made that end up being "suicided" over.

They add the quote "car battery and cans of petrol nearby" just to give this the usual "fear" tactic that will easily be accepted by most ignorant sheeple... like the shills posting all over this post.

It says NOTHING about anything about the device this man made. It could have been no more dangerous then a couple of magnets slapped together.

The "FEAR" factor is purposely done to sell the lie.

Investigators could have found a Playboy and some condoms and called him a pervert. Add some pictures of kids on the fireplace mantel and he's a pedo. The women's clothing in the closet is immediate proof he's a transsexual too, that they don't actually belong to the woman of the house.

A Dundee man has been accused of "recklessly producing household electricity" with a bizarre home-made transformer.

Charles McKenzie is alleged to have rigged up a "dangerous transformer assembly" at his flat in Dundee's Dudhope Court to generate power.

Mr McKenzie, 55, was not at Dundee Sheriff Court to face the charge of culpable and reckless conduct.

Sheriff George Way continued the case without plea for three weeks.

Suspended generator

The charge alleges Mr McKenzie "culpably and recklessly" produced electricity "with total disregard for the safety of yourself and others".

WTF!

It looks like an apartment building. I don't care what kind of generator you've made, but hooking it up to an existing system with blatant disregard to the safety of others, this guy deserves to get fucked in the ass. In the US, you can get charged for attempted murder for doing this.

I agree, all these post of "stick it to the man" and to not be slaves to the government system are retards. If you want to produce free energy that is you're right, but if you want to do it recklessly then you are endangering other peoples life not just you're own. That's all it takes is one moron who rigs up some makeshift transformer, and what if it blew at some point? Causing an accident or killing those living next door? Then the government, would simply implement even stricter laws on how we could or could not setup a free energy system. Maybe even take that right away.

Its funny how many retards on here will instantly assume this was some kind of free energy machine.
When in fact the guy had a generator hanging from the ceiling because he didn't pay his electric bill.
And it was probably causing noise and fumes and all kinds of shit before a neighbor called the cops.
