its funny but the gains in wage and benefits the union wins gets paid back from the employee in the form of union dues! So are they any better off?

I went to the Walmart in Rialto CA at 4:30 PM on Friday and the place was almost deserted. I didn't see any picketers and very few customers. The place is twice as busy on any typical weekday.

directly across the street from a Wal-Mart.

On Black Friday, the Wal-Mart parking lot was
packed but the Target parking lot looked like
a ghost town.

There are so many more things that come with a union other than a slightly higher wage, the most important thing being a voice that will be heard. How some of the bootlickers on this site can be so against that is beyond me.

The union failed because they didn't move their strike up one day (Thanksgiving) to counter the early black Friday sale.

This is really pissing me off the more I think about it. Walmart is the enemy of the American people, yet some of the you are so blinded by your brainwashing and insatiable need for more cheap chinese shinies that you just cant help but come to defend a company that intentionally destroys communities in the name of capitalism.

You as taxpayers subsidize Walmart profits by paying for their employee benefits, doesnt that irk you at all?

Walmart is so scared of their employees forming unions that they are willing to walk away from stores that are entirely stocked and ready to open, doesnt that alone tell you that their business practices include things that would never fly with an educated organized workforce?

Lawsuit after lawsuit is filed against this business due to the way they treat employees and some of you cheer them on. Its pathetic.

No matter how bad Wal-Mart may be, I have never seen a situation made better by the injection of union thuggery into it.

Same here in East TN. I went to Walmart Friday @9am and it was dead....parking lot was empty. It is going to be a poor holiday season for retailers. Everyone rushed to by black friday items at a huge discount and low profit for the stores

People should be boycotting Walmart.

Wal-mart is one of the biggest offenders when it comes to hiring illegals and paying them shit, at least over here they are.

You should find out what the workers are fighting for before you judge.

Would you support them if you found out thy were fighting to keep the company fro hiring illegal immigrants for pennies on the dollar?

What if the company is making female employees suck off the managers to keep their jobs?

I mean at certain point people have to stand up and fight or really it's just a race to the bottom, and 3rd worlders will sleep in the back room and work for .25 cents an hour, is this really what you want to compete against?

Because they WILL hire them, and everyone's standard of living goes down.

I m a capitalist, I believe in market forces, however the end result is all of us living like the 3rd world refugees that these companies are looking to hire.

Walmart provides jobs. Douchebags like you don't.

Walmart provides low cost products allowing less wealthy people to afford things they need or want. By offering these items at discounted prices, they are in fact allowing folks of lesser means to live a more comfortable life.

Don't like their business model? Don't shop or work there. simple as that.

My mother in law is a walmart worker. She said they were actually slow on Friday compared to prior years. Hmm. I wonder if the management at walmart is lying? They wouldn't do that, would they? I mean, they wouldn't put their interest in money ahead of any movement, would they?

This company is knowingly hiring illegals, which is only helping to destroy your country, driving your wages down and THIS is the biggest reason why our countries are FLOODED with disgusting third world types...

They are ENCOURAGED to come here to steal your dreams, these companies WANT a public who will live ten to a house in squalor and filth, just to make a profit.

If you have to compete against them then you have to live like them, because they will work for nothing, and the company would rather settle out in court.

These companies have ZERO loyalty to you and could care less if they destroy your way of life in pursuit of a dollar.

I agree that SOME unions have taken it too far, but at the same time people need to fight back against these communist globalist scum corps that are encouraging the dregs of the earth to flood into the countries we built and destroy our way of life.
