User ID: 18380705 United States 11/27/2012 01:33 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | on my local news: rain from wednesday until next monday. in LOS ANGELES!!!! this isnt good for us. the city of la is currently demolishing the 405 freeway, cutting into mountains and they have not built the retaining walls yet. it is possible that we may have an enourmous landslide blocking the entire freeway, near westwood, where traffic is normally insanely crowded and slow. the alternate roads along this freeway are at the bottom of unsecured mountains, also subject to landslides and massive flooding. this could get messy... |

That would have a major impact... food for thought. Quoting: CaseLogic well you don't nead any quake to make this storm a bad thing to this region, but all this whater can lubricate the fault and make it more easy to slide... that's what i was getting at but luckily the larger quakes are further south usually.. thanks for post M2.6 - 36km SW of Ferndale, California 2012-11-21 05:27:25 UTC M2.5 - 6km WSW of Cobb, California 2012-11-24 08:11:43 UTC M3.3 - 5km WSW of Cobb, California 2012-11-24 08:10:18 UTC M3.3 - 23km NNE of Soledad, California 2012-11-24 15:44:35 UTC M3.1 - 28km NW of Dixon Lane-Meadow Creek, California 2012-11-27 02:28:06 UTC [link to earthquake.usgs.gov] |
