It was told to find out if it has water by observing the sound of the detonation? Quoting: emerald_glow The whole world was watching it on TV...and waiting for hours...and waiting...and then click! sumthin' disappeared in the Moon without a sound. And that was it. Yes, that 10 kiloton weapon is still in the crater and Obama still has the football in his hands |

Its no coincidence that it can eclipse the sun. Park it in a geostationary orbit for about a month between the sun and earth, all sunlight would be blocked, everything would be deal in a month. I wittnessed a total eclipse once, expected the dark, did not expect how cold in got in just a few moments. The powers that be know this, but they never had the power to blow the moon up, besides which you would have asteroids raining down for eons. Not too many tho, since the moon is hollow You can ignore the consequences of your actions, but you cannot ignore the RESULTS of the consequences of your actions Ayn Rand |

That will show everyone that we can't be messed with. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 674480 TPTB tried that. Then they got sentenced to earth after they blew up their planet ( asteroid belt now). Now they are here tormenting us because thy cannot escape. Think you might be right, it explains the them vs us x |

Quoting: strgzr The idea was to show the Soviets, by making enough of a disturbance on the moon, that we had missiles capable of reaching the moon. Yeah, that would show 'em, alright ... there would be no life on earth after that debacle! How stupid to eliminate the Moon for 'bragging rights' when the Moon shields the earth from deadly solar rays that would fry each and every person on this small globe! That is just the DUMBEST thing I've ever heard! |
schiehallion User ID: 28519922 United Kingdom 11/26/2012 12:09 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | America was not alone in their attempts, the Russians had a similar agenda. A few of us have known about this for a long time. On August 22nd 1964, an extraterrestrial who goes by the name Aetherius spoke through a trance medium, here is part of it; "Man is now allowed for the first time, when he is able, to land one or more of his kind upon the surface of Luna. He is also allowed, if he be fool enough, to bombard the surface of Luna in almost whatever way he so chooses. Before this he was not allowed to do so and at least two attempts to bombard Luna with atomic warheads were directly frustrated by us. Neither can you, America, blame Russia for both attempts. Please note that." This information appeared in a booklet called 'Join Your Ship' which was published in 1964 by The Aetherius Society. Like father like son I guess. To Australia we exported convicts, to the USA we exported the religious fanatics. Thats the way I like to think of it. Hahaha, and now you're right in the middle. Except for that immigration policy. Now other countries have exported their criminals and their religious fanatics to you. Hell. Sometimes logic sucks dicks. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28258883 Nahhh.....the water will slosh around by itself. We don't need no fooking moon! The sooner we can launch that thing back out in space from whence it was towed here, the better! The frequency fence that has been keeping us stupid here originate from Jupiter...or is it Saturn?...and the signal is then amplified and targeted by the moon to keep us stupid and unenlightened. It's the Moon Matrix, I tell ya! It needs to go! |

Quoting: Flapping Chicken Little It does rotate, just once for every orbit around the Earth. It does the same thing as many other moons in the solar system. And no bomb that we have is big enough to affect its spin. The article is bad journalism. They didn't want to blow up the Moon. They couldn't then or now. They wanted to have a flash big enough to be seen by the Soviets proving we got there. Amazing that so many people are up in arms about this thing that never happened when many hoax believers have proposed we should have done exactly the same thing and the fact we didn't proves we didn't go. Damned if we do, damned if we don't. If you have to insist that you've won an Internet argument, you've probably lost badly. - Danth's Law |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 28588524 United Kingdom 11/28/2012 09:34 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | see? Quoting: SeaPunk fen humans always want to blow something up this is why we will never advance.. EVER too much power too much control freaks :tyjstyty: You seem to be willfully ignorant of the massive technological advancements made during wartime and the enduring peace (well mostly) for most of the world thanks to the nuke. Take Europe for instance ww1 was just a continuation of previous warfare using more modern kit. WW2 was pretty much inevitable after ww1 and since then nukes have made any large scale conflict pretty much impossible. As an example USA and Russia sat there for 50 odd years effectively pointing big guns at each others (and there own and everyone else's) heads. But no war because they new there would be no winner just lots of lossers. |
