The U.S. Mint has no plans to remove the penny and nickel from circulation in January 2013. This is the problem with using bullshit blogs as your news sources. They are full of shit. I used to enjoy scanning news stories from GLP, but lately, I see that much of the "news" that is posted here is bullshit fake stories created by amateur bloggers. One star for you, clown. |

Quoting: Brian Moser Cool story, eh? did you use those coin machines or did you roll up the coins by hand? I'm lazy and used the Coinstar machine. |

Undestroyer Truth User ID: 21232567 United States 11/26/2012 02:49 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have to laugh as additional confirmation of this news has not been found. Tim Geithner wants to abolish the debt ceiling though which in a bit of irony would probably make the penny worth close to next to nothing someday. Maybe someday soon. It couldn't have been more than 5 minutes. I want to say the charge is 9% but I don't remember exactly. I mean, for the time it saved, it was worth it in my opinion. Edit: It's 9.8% here unless you get a store credit (which I believe waives the fee). Last Edited by Brian Moser on 11/26/2012 03:01 AM |

Those might be worth keeping around. indeed, the banks will horde them and melt them down like they did in the mid 60s with 90% silver quarters and dimes you still run into silver in circulation on occasion, if you are keeping an eye on your change i have about 60 points of copper pennys start saving |

Hardwired User ID: 27975700 United States 11/26/2012 06:05 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | All pennies pre-1982 are copper. Nickels are 75% copper. Save those pennies and nickels... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 11677814 I did as a kid in the 1980s. Dad let me scoop the pre-82s out of his change and when I started working, I added my own. Eventually, I had a big plastic bin full of pennies. Sometime around 1990, I was low on weed and $$ and decided to cash them in. There were no CoinStar machines then. Rolled them all by hand. $42. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 21416459 Round off to the nearest even amount, easy with computers. First sign of an inflationary collapse, this is probably being floated around, because the penny and nickel is just about useless. Wait until they get rid of the quarter, then dollar. Quoting: BRIEF Paper is still paper. Metal value changes constantly. Dum Dum The point is retard, the value of items usually goes up when they stop making them... No dumbass! When copper prices soar and people melt pennies and eventually nickels, it reduces the amount of said coins therefore increasing the value on those coins. But figure you and a bunch of other people bought a bunch of $2 bills and no one melted them. Since melting paper just doesn't seem to work. There is still as many $2 bills out there just not being used (therefore 90% are still mint condition) |
