I honestly hope it's more than just Texas... We will not win without others joining the cause of upholding our Constitution!

Arizona will be a bloodbath. Sheriff Joe just got approved for his sheriff's to carry full auto. I LOVE my guns and always have and will. from when I was a kid I slept with loaded rifles and shotguns under my bed. And I mean from when I was a baby.

But sheriff's carrying full auto in an urban area does not sit well with me at all. My Viet Nam vet friends all told about how they changed to only the A men on the A teams carrying fully automatic. I think AR-14's, not sure, and all the other soldiers (was that when they went to AR-15's?) could only use three round bursts and single fire. Unless they were using 30 and 50 cal subs.

The guys would lose it and spray everywhere, waste all their ammo and lose a lot of allies and other US soldiers with friendly fire.

Maybe the Sheriff's dept. here is a part of the plan? I know there's a lot of "Joe" supporters here, but he's done a lot of questionable things (costing the county more than 60 million in court costs and law suits so far, more to come)

Is there any other EO's out there using full auto, NOT SWAT, I mean just on patrol?

US history books teach Lincoln as the great savior of the black man. However, it seems he broke a few Constitutional principles to achieve the results he got.

Re: Having lunch in Texas is very interesting these days...
Yes. Texans seem to be very defensive these days. I'm reminded about some quotes from the past that are proving true today.

President John Adams once said,
"Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." -October 11, 1798.

And George Washington said: "It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and Bible"

Thomas Jefferson wrote: "God who gave us life gave us liberty. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are a gift from God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, and that His justice cannot sleep forever."

The revisionist historians have tried to "cover up" God himself by not allowing recent generations to know that America was once a nation of religious people. Now, over half the people in America are not well informed and are willing to believe the spoon fed propaganda from the Democrats and Republicans.

Where there is no God there is chaos, and remember freedom of the press means the media will be free to report what it wants you to know.

When destructive and irresponsible freedom has been granted boundless space. Society appears to have little defense against the abyss of human decadence.
Life organized legalistically has thus shown its inability to defend itself against the corrosion of evil.

Socialism of any type and shade leads to a total destruction of the human spirit and to a leveling of mankind into death.

In American democracy at the time of its birth, all individual human rights were granted because man is God's creature. That is, freedom was given to the individual conditionally, in the assumption of his constant religious responsibility.

Turning to socialism is a false and dangerous current and
the danger is already here and the situation is much, much worse. Thus, Obama can try putting duct tape on a sinking ship but only when most Americans turn to God will the storm subside. Only then will America be able to fix the problem.

William Penn wrote, "Those who will not be governed by God will be ruled by tyrants."

And James Madison said in 1778 to the General Assembly of the state of Virginia.
We've staked our future on our ability to follow the Ten Commandments with all of our heart."

I don't believe evolved dependency of religion would obliterate the constitution. Religion was very important to people when the constitution was founded. I'm not saying religion isn't important these days but more and more people are able to survive and be happy without claiming to be a part of religions these days.

I still believe people understand the basic human rights and can apply these to accommodate the lack of dedicated religion in society today. I think it's foolish to claim without religion chaos would ensure. It would only happen if your that weak of a mind to let something like that drive you to chaos.

people here in texas don't like government. especially big government. most cling to their independence, their ability to do what they want when they want. It's just how we are here, a place where we value independence and a persons ability to manage their own life responsibly, without interference or "assistance"
Granted some take it too far, almost to the level of paranoia.
People here will fight to keep what they've worked for and fight to kkep doing the things they enjoy.

Wrong, you have no idea how many drug cartel members are living in Texas, they are much more organized, funded, armed and trained than you realize.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 28727604

That's because the US gov't won't allow Texas to enforce its border.

But with independence and the right change of mentality, Texas could regain it's cojones and solve that problem.

Ha ha, ha ha ha ha. With what Army? After a secession, Texas would be left near defenseless with only a militia to protect it. Granted, more people round here have guns than in other parts of the US, but still, it couldn't prevent Mexico from taking back their land if they wanted to do so.

It's not really a religion thing. You see, many countries are very religious. And still they suffer.

It's really a God thing. But then that becomes a question of faith. The US founders had a lot of faith in God. They believed that any chance of future prosperity would only come if they stayed true to God.

It seems they were right.
