You can count AZ in as well.

What are the idiots in power thinking.

Law abiding US Citizens have bought more guns and ammo every year exponentially every year since 2008. They have got to know that taking away our CONSTITUTIONAL and G-d given right to bear arms is going to backfire like a motherfucker.

I believe that most of our military will NOT go along with this, so they will have to bring in foreign troops. That will NOT bode well, since we have more AKs than ALL communist and socialist countries combined right here in the good ole USA.

Shalom...

So you want 51% to vote away the rights of 49%? People are stupid and a democracy doesn't protect against mob rule.
 Quoting: s. d. butler

MOB Rule is just a negative title designed to push people away from it.

Theres really only 3 ways to handle decision of a large group of humans.

Dictatorship- Which branches into many other forms of government but the general idea is the same.

True Democracy- You can call this MOB Rule or w/e but the point is the majority decision is king.

Current Democracy. A System designed to give people the illusion of power. When in reality the media and Feds generally control the outcome even if they don't rig the votes.

Only a fairly public school graduate could come up with this answer.

I apologize if it was to layman for you... but please feel welcome to elaborate on your opinion. What would you say is the problem with mob rule? Feel free to use your PHD brain to elaborate I promise it won't give me a headache.
 Quoting: XSlyOneX

I see you are a Ron Paul supporter. Since I am as well I don't care to argue with you. I wish, however, that you would rethink your defense of mob rule. That is not the way to go.

Maybe a constitutional republic?

Do Lunch in The Woodlands and get back to me!

The Woodlands, Montgomery Country, Texas, a tiny suburb five miles square, about 25 miles north of Houston that looks like it will become the 'Kingdom of Bush' in 2014 when they will be allowed to incorporate and vote in their own city council, in return for a $16 million donation to the City of Houston's 'Renovation Fund'. It is a 'Master Planned Community' that calls itself the 'third most conservative county in the United States', with a median income of $113,243, just 23 miles from George Bush International airport, with a George Bush Park in the center of town. In the last ten years, one third of all the new office space built in Greater Houston, 1.6 million of 4.8 million square feet, has been in The Woodlands, and half of it is owned by Anadarko Petroleum.

A democracy is intself Mob Rule where 51% control and regulate the other 49%. A Republic which is what the US started out as goes something like this. We have a election where we want to regulate the water consumption of every house. 51% vote yes and 49% vote no. The 49% still dont have to follow the 51% because it would be unconstitutional and a violation of their rights. Fast forward to present day. You have no rights only privleges and they can be revoked or denied at any time for any reason. WAKE UP AMERICA

Yes, everything about the United States was and is supposed to be entirely voluntary. For example, that's why there were no income taxes. States could secede peacefully at any time. And you were supposed to actually be allowed to OWN property. That's why there were no property taxes.

It has all been usurped by criminals now. The Republic is dead.

Let me clarify what I really want is the State to be in charge of everything except National Security and Foreign Policy. Meaning I want majority votes for everything in question that the fed currently rules over. Example would be taxes, medical insurance, drug legalizing, Gay marriage, abortion and pretty much all "Pressing" issues that shouldn't be delegated on a nationwide scale.

I honestly can see the problems with MOD Rule but it doesn't mean what we are currently doing is any better.

I've been to the woodlands. Nice people but a little prude. However for all their arrogance they are hella good at music and organization. Their economy is booming and their people are pretty happy. The cost of living is actually relatively low as well...

That being said I wouldn't want to live their because we are of different breed but I don't have much against them.

Re: Having lunch in Texas is very interesting these days...
Video Reference for today's overheard conversation during my lunch.

EDIT: A Video a commenter on here showed me. Seemed very on the spot.

I love going out to eat here in Texas. We have a ridiculously high selection of restaurants to choose from so I have the luxury of most time being able to eat at a place I've never eaten before.

That being said I must say the chatter I've picked up through the last month or so have been in one word... INSANE!

Everyone and I mean EVERYONE is talking about how they can't stand what our government has become. Yes Obama is a big part of it but it's more than that now. They say it's the entire system practically!

Today I overheard a big group of people talking about the newly signed UN treaty banning guns. They were talking about what they would do if someone ever came to take theirs away and it wasn't pretty...

I just want to say this now... NO one is going to accept that here...

This leads me to wonder... Is this planned?... I can't imagine our government wouldn't know the reaction of the people if they were to try and do a gun ban...

This makes me curious that what if they are trying on purpose to piss the country off into a violent confrontation? I honestly don't know what the benefit of that would be but they can't surely be so stupid to think that half the country would rather die than lose their defensive tools?

I don't really know a solution to either side but I'm telling this chatter is not just small talk. These people are dead serious about this and everyone is getting grouped up on the same idea. I heard many heres heres in response to this groups conversation. Remember I usually go to a new restaurant everytime so it's not the same people I'm hearing this from it seems to be everyone around here.

Has anyone else heard from the general population talk like this?
 Quoting: XSlyOneX

Weird isn't it... did you ever think that a "normal" conversation with people would be about guns and arming themselves? I live in the DFW area, and there are alot of conversations of people saying that they WILL NOT peacebly give up their guns here. They would use them to enforce our constitutional rights against this government. Alot of people here in Texas are talking about it...and think about it... there was a recent report on here and other sites stating that Black Friday Gun sales were so abundant that it crashed the FBI data base twice in the same day.

Although not a direct-vote system, Hong Kong has an autonomous agreement with China for self-rule in all areas except National Security and Foreign Policy.

So sadly, in a sense, China has a deal with Hong Kong that's better than the deal that the US states have with their federal central government.

No one is going to try to TAKE your guns. They may restrict new manufacturing or sales, but no one is going to go door to door to get your guns.

And why would they? Do you really think the federal gov't is afraid of its citizens with firearms?

Think again.

What could all those Texans do with their guns against the gov't? Oh, that's right--die. But the gov't isn't going to go after guns if they want to oppress people. They'll simply shut off the water, the electricity, put some drones over your property and wait you out.

Or just send in tanks to crush you.

Texans are so full of self importance. We're Texans!! Everybody LOOK!!! We have guns and we gonna fight the federal gubmin!

No. Get real. Perhaps in 1789 people armed with muskets could fight off other people with muskets, but in 2012 AR-15s won't stand a chance against F-16s, Predator Drones, and M1 Abrams tanks.

The only way gov't tyranny will be fought is by patriots on the inside and computer hackers and massive peaceful nonviolent resistance.

Forget about the guns, except maybe to fend off mutant mauraders.

I beg to differ with this statement: that's exactly what Mr. Janet did in a little town called Waco, Texas. killed innocent women and children. that was straight up reno/atf tanks and firebombs. the local constabulary were told to stand down. was this slaughter of innocents to send a message? ps. while I know nothing of the values at the country compound, I defend their rights to a retreat as much as I do freedom for buddists to have a monastery here.

Down here in Terlingua everybody is complaining about the direction of government and the chipping away of rights. Nobody is talking smack but you can hear it in the peoples voices how disgusted they are getting with the whole shabang. People are really pissed at all the facial recognition and license plate cameras now installed in literal banks of 20 or more at the border patrol checkpoints. at night border patrol is tailgating with their high beams on following drivers for miles and really pissing people off. it's like an armed camp and people are tired of it.
