A gallon of store brand milk is $2.50 and a loaf of store brand bread is usually under/around a flat dollar. The "name brand" milk and bread is alittle higher, but still nowhere close to $5 a gallon. Id hate to know what a pack of cheese or some chicken costs where some of you people live. |

If you have an Aldi nearby, milk is cheap there & they don't buy milk that has been taken from cows that have been given hormones. vaccinefreehealth blogspot com The risk far outweighs any benefit as the risk will vary from child to child. facebook.com/graphixyourway |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 23508092 Australia 11/29/2012 05:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Same thing here in Aus. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 18280704 Loaf of regular name brand bread...$3 to $5 dollars. 2 litre cartom of regular name brand milk..$4 to $5 dollars. Homebrand stuff id about $3 dollars cheaper overall. In any case..ya still need a tenner to get a loaf and a carton..and IF you get change its not much. Even the homebrand stuff is fazing out. If you have a look at both coles and woolies, they simply repack the very same item with the coles brand etc now and charge 50% + more. If there is anything you use that is still available stock right up as seems as they run out the new lot coming in is their " own brand " but it is seriously the very same item with different packing at much higher cost - literally sitting around name brand costs ( which are also going up beyond belief monthly ). |

It was $8.00! That used to be the price of dinner not long ago. Now, an entree at a decent restaurant is easily $14. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 8285424 I will think about that while I am eating my steak at Ruth Chris this Saturday night ! I am looking forward to it ! |

That is $2.14 cents per loaf of top quality name brand whole wheat bread. Granted it was a loaf of Franz brand sourdough, but it was $4.79, Seattle area. Same bread just earlier this year was about $3.29. -Everything's more awesome when you lean into it. |

If anything, I have (cheap) rolled oats with a little soymilk. I make my own soybean milk in an electric milk maker I got on Kijiji for free. one cup of soybeans soaked makes 8 cups of milk - enough to last me for a month. I do pay a little extra to get organic/non-gmo soybeans (which is getting harder to find) I can't afford almonds, they are too expensive here in Canada, but apparently that's a delicious option. |
