I lost a close friend who had around $200 on him when he passed on and it somehow came up missing. I know it isn't a whopping amount of money, but still... it didn't just disappear. The family was sure it was the police, who were the first to find him.

He took 3,000 dollars and a gold chain, scavenger...

At least he did not rape the corpse.

We have to be happy for the last vestiges of civilized human behavior that remain.

Moron.

2 years away from 20 years and a locked in pension/retirement plan and he fucking blows it for a few grand and a gold chain.

Can someone tell me why a state trooper is earning $111k a year?

I'm from CT and this has been all over the news today
 Quoting: KartAnimal29

Take a moment everyone and say a prayer for the person who died and a prayer for the Trooper. Stealing is a mortal sin, what will happen to his soul if he doesn't repent and confess
his sin to God before he dies?

Serious...say a prayer.

Oh blood and water which gushed forth from the heart of Jesus as a font of mercy for the person who died in the accident and for the Trooper who stole from accident victim. I trust in You.

Amen

I know a cop who retired at 100,000 plus at age 42. And they had to cut school programs in his town to pass the budget last year.

He isn't earning anything, he is taking money at the point of a gun. Taxation is theft.

For the same reason the cops in my little town earn over 100,000/year and retire after 20 years at about that amount. This country is insane.

Robbing a corpse isn't really a "human" thing to do.

Only thing rare is that they get caught or the theft is reported!!

I have another cop friend who is retired. He worked for a large city in the northeast. He told me about 80% of the cops he worked with were dirty. What he means by dirty you can figure out for yourselves.

Oh, nice, another cop bashing thread.

Next time you need a cop, instead of dialing 911 call a hippy to come save your ass.

Probably wasn't the first time either, just the first time he got caught. What a horrible thing to do, stealing from the dead.

I had a police department try to steal my father's money after he passed away...they stalled...were intimidating...even ignored a court order...they were trying to get me to either give up, or get past the magical 90 day mark where they could seize the money...fuck the police!

A cop in one of the local bergs here in south Jersey was on paid leave for FOUR YEARS. He even got raises while he was sitting at home.

Now the "investigation" is over (they never did say what he was being investigated for) and he's back on the job writing traffic tickets.

I love cops.

OK, I'll give you a good cop story. My parents found a big bag of money in the woods behind their house. It was all old silver coins. They called the police. They came and took the coins away. They said if no one claims them the were theirs.

They got a call from the police about six months later. The cops said come and pick up the coins, they're yours. The police didn't take them for themselves. Not all police are bad. But the ones who are, give the police a black eye and bad feelings from the public. A real shame.
